And, padfoot is just a nickname... it's a bit of a of a long story. Kind of a 'had to be there' type moment. In any case, i don't want to bore you with the specifics.

At least father had lightened up on the....beatings a bit. But it was the same old same old. Sirius....I can't. You know I can't tell anyone. It's the only home I got for the next few years. I got everything planned out. Graduating, although it won't be the same without you, and applying for a healer at St. Mungo's and then probably getting a place of my own. Darling Hailey, you really have no idea how amazing a home can be. But... I don’t think we should be dwelling on this, I think plotting your father’s dreadful demise would be a better use of our time. I for one vote pushing him down the stairs. It’s clean cut and simple, no? Plus... this way we can blame accidental magic and be to hell with it.
