That morning Alice had woken up with the rest of the other Gryffindor females and got ready for classes with them. Although they were sixth year they still had some of the same classes based on what electives they wished to keep. Part of Alice wanted to keep all of them but she knew that her work load would be much too difficult for her sixth and seventh year. But if she kept as much as she could then her job prospects would be much better. Of course what seventeen year old knew what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives and Alice kept changing her mind. Teacher at Hogwarts, but then again she hated the little first years since they could be brats. Hopefully when she was that young she was not a brat like they were, although she was probably called a cry baby since she used to cry over missing her sister and her mother once in a while. Her family was very close and that made her want to at least work in London so she could always be within driving distance of her parents and sister. So she guessed that there would always be a good ministry job that she could take.
Yet there was a part of her that longed for something a bit more fufilling than just working as someone's paper filer or note sender. Her father worked as an Auror and that seemed exciting enough but she knew the strain it put on a family and Alice wanted a good family life like she currently had. Either way she pondered theses questions as she went through her day of classes. Often she stopped in the hallway to speak to someone or to just say hi to people that she knew. But the day seemed to just fly by and soon she found herself back in her dorm room changing from the school uniform to a pair of jeans and a warm sweater. The weather was starting to get colder and Alice wanted some fresh air before it got too much colder so she settled on the idea of an afternoon walk.
At first she set off with a large group of friends from thier common room and that group dwindled when people found others but she made it outside with five or six others. Together they walked and talked about the day and about life. It appeared that Alice was in the center of the group with her usual bright smile on her face but somehow she managed to make it a few paces behind the group since she was curious about the lake. The surface looked so calm but she was careful not to get too close and ruin her shoes. But she was feeling adventorus today so she took a few steps closer and leaned down to look closer. Maybe she would finally get to see the creatures that lived there but she doubted it since she was standing next to shallow water.
A few strands of hair fell free so she quick tucked them back behind her ear as she stood up straight. Her group called to her but she waved them on since she just wanted a moment of fresh air to herself. Later tonight she would find them again but a girl needed a moment to herself every once in a while. Alice took in a deep breath and smiled as she exhaled.

[style=width:300px; height: 300px; background: url(http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj566/mildevo/frank/frank-8.jpg)] , my heart is yours perhaps it was out of insanity, but he preferred to look at it as just his way of taking a beat from being constantly surrounded flocked by people, and for this case, nothing really wasn't going off his radar. except for the fact that the professors were making the classes just a tad bit harder than usual, which he was all going for, but with which he sometimes wished for having a brain like that of a ravenclaw's.
he squinted to his right, blissful in his submersion under the great lake, but for which he was starting to finally feel the cold stab into his skin. with a sigh, he turned and starting swimming towards shore, smiling slightly at the thought of what would be waiting for him in civilization. more witty comments that would try to make him stagger out of his ground, no doubt; girls who'd try to make conversation, professors who would call him to have "a word", and with the whole mix of friends he'd gotten close to throughout his years in hogwarts, there was no way in the world that he would ever get the chance to get his mind in a quiet place. leaving this quiet serenity would mean that he wouldn't be able to get a chance to spot the giant squid, or play with the grindylows, or scare of a few merpeople, but it would also mean that he would get a chance to see alice.
he narrowed his eyes as he passed a few seaweeds, unable to ignore the only perturb of his heart. he'd racked his head around for some time now, considering the possibility that he'd only began to pay attention to her because.. well.. why indeed? what was more, he hadn't even made or initiated a move that would inform her of his intentions, which, he could safely say for himself, a completely different approach that sounded more girly than he'd have liked. well, considering the fact that he talked to girls for the most of the day for every day of the year, it didn't make sense that he couldn't get himself up just to set his feelings straight.
then again, even if he had dated and had been in pretty serious relationships before, his friend relationship with her was more gut-wrenching than anything else. yes, it did disturb him, the fact that guys would come up to sway her with words that he would've liked to say, but more so to the fact that he just couldn't get why her. was it the way she would take his breath away by smiling without warning, or how she wasn't easily conformed to the otherwise trends of her peers, or how he knew he was probably way out of his league that made this challenge all the more driving?
finally able to get his feet on the outer shore, he broked out of the surface, eliciting deep breaths as he squuezed his eyes shut for a moment, before raking a hand through his wet hair as he opened his eyes, lips parting simultaneously. once able to see more clearly, and began his way inland, and almost froze with laughter. what were the odds. alice! he called out, immediately grinning at how spectacular her simplicity stood out for his eyes to see. hey! personally, he couldn't have wished for a better timing; especially since he wasn't at all ashamed of revealing his upper body. as he approached nearer, he waved his wand to his shirt and jumper lying a couple of meters on the shore, just by the rocks, before pocketing his wand in the back of his board shorts. he didn't bother to button up his shirt as his feet landed on the shore, eyes never breaking contact from the angel face.
come to think of it, this was perhaps the only time he met her alone this week. just couldn't resist my calling, could you? he started, tone filled with tease and a paramount delight, unable to contain his excitement. he slipped on his slippers. sorry for the bother, i just miss your smile all the time. well, perhaps, he could do a little better than this. so.. how've you been? here, he reached out his hand, the stem of a blue rose tucked safely between his thumb and forefinger. you look lovely.

WHEN WE MET I FELT MY LIFE BEGIN The air had that crisp feeling to it that stung a little as it filled up her lungs with the precious oxygen. It was like little tiny pricks since it was much cooler than the temperature of her body but she had a nice warm sweater to keep her warm as well. It was a nice sweater that her grandmother gave her for christmas. That was probably the best holiday out of all of them because it meant more time with her family and she had a few aunts and uncles that she only saw at this time. Alice was a family girl and she always wanted to remain loyal to them, but she mainly focused on her sister who was here at Hogwarts with her. Of course it was tough since her sister was always the more quiet and she had recently noticed some rebellion brewing inside of her sweet baby sister. Maybe it was that she was jelious of all of the attention that Alice got over her. But she didn't want to sound conceeded but it appeared that people noticed her over her sister. Even within the family it seemed like Alice got a little bit more attention than her sister did, at least from her father. When he was around to give attention to his family.
Her hands stayed inside the pockets of her jeans as she glanced around the lake and then her gaze was drawn back to the group that she had left. They were already close to the Castle and seemed to go on very well without her, which was fine since Alice had no loyality to one specific group of people. It was just like her to roam amoungst all groups of friends and people at Hogwarts. Freedom was important and being tied to only one group would limit her growth into the witch that she wanted to be. There was a bright future ahead of herself and even Alice could realize that without being told in divinations class during the tea reading portion. But she was confident in herself and again she looked down at her own reflection in the lake. Again no creatures seemed to appear out of no where and swim by her gaze, which disappointed her and if it wasn't for the cold water then she might have jumped in. It was tempting but she imaged how cold the water was.
By now the group was long gone and inside the Castle and she assumed that most people would be inside since dinner was getting close to being served. But her stomach was not growling for food but for more of this lovely air that surrounded her. As her mind drifted off into her thoughts and plans for the weekend she heard the sounds of the surface of the water being broken though. Almost immediate her gaze dared towards where she heard the sound. Maybe it was her lucky day and she would get to see the giant squid afterall. However she saw someone that she knew pretty well getting out and calling out her name. Alice took a few steps towards where he was reaching the shore and smiled. Hey Frankie She said while maintaining that same smile. Her gaze drifted down to his semi nude state right in front of her. Nakedness did not embarass her but it was a little weird to see a boy that she wasn't dating without a shirt on. But she had known Frank since they were both first years at Hogwarts and they were friendly. Actually they had a good amount of the same friends since they both liked to mingle outside of thier own house.
There had always been something about him that interested her but she had witnessed his dating and breaking of hearts before so she had always kept herself guarded to be safe. That smile though made her heart flutter ever so slightly for a moment though. What calling? I didn't even know you were down there until you surfaced She replied and used the same sort of teasing tone that he used. I have been good. A little busy with my schoolwork but that is pretty much normal at this point. How have you been? She asked since they were making conversation.
While she had been answering his question he pulled out a blue rose and for a moment Alice felt her cheeks grow warm and appear slightly more pink than normal. You do know how to flatter. She commented and then accepted the rose that he had held out for her. Blue... its very unique but why a blue rose? She asked as she admired the flower that she now held very carefully.

[style=width:300px; height: 300px; background: url(http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj566/mildevo/frank/frank-8.jpg)] , my heart is yours because you're my impossible. thought it would match your eyes, he replied in kind, grateful that he'd been able to stop himself in time from uttering the words in his head. now that he thought about it, he'd read it once in a muggle magazine, while enjoying a cup of steaming coffee in a coffee parlour, that a blue rose was not at all a natural occurence. this presumably gave it the meaning of imposibble, unattainable; descriptive words that he could only think would belong between him and her. to his credit, such pessimistic thoughts had only surfaced on some occassion, when he would see her in the company of another male.
he couldn't help the smirk tug at the side of his lips, feeling victorious at the blush of rosiness on her cheeks. he already knew that he could pull anything to trouble any girl's heart, but how she said worried him than anything else. was that how she saw him as, a mere gallant flirt who could just about twist anything to get what he wanted? well, he certainly couldn't do anything about that, though he only ever meant for good intentions to be had.
some who knew of his past would undoubtedly comment on how it was clearly just an act for his issues towards losing his mother at such a young age, and how it was a defense mechanism to defend his heart and so forth. often, he wouldn't hesitate to agree, but he had dated quite seriously before, on numerous occassions, actually. but none ever worked out because.. well, because he found that something was always lacking. but not with alice. being around her was already keeping him on his toes, and already diminishing his usual streak of smooth words and making him out as another awkward player, trying to crawl his way into her heart.
oh, you know. i got lonely. so, he gestured out to the lake, while slinging his jumper on his shoulder with his other hand, i tried to look for the giant squid, maybe just to pat it or maybe even ride on it, but then i ended up being chased by merpeople. he nodded comically, recklessly grinning over his own bad attempt to make things upbeat. there was no need for anyone to see the side of him that showed vulnerability and disarray of thoughts. he knew, though, that he could have thought of a better innuendo for such an occassion.
but he was with her.
and with that in mind, he took the final steps to close the distance between them, suddenly wounding one arm around her back and the other taking her hand, swivelling her in a sudden turn and ending with a dip, before pulling her gently up, leading them on a silent dance. with one hand on her waist, and the other holding on her hand for dear life, that crooked smile of his never left, face looking down on her with a teasing, triumphant face.
i don't believe you, his eyes gleamed, his tone soft, miss popular not surrounded by her throng of admirers? highly unlikely. he accompanied this statement with a shake of his head, a playful expression of tease on his face. don't be afraid to admit that you missed me, because i missed you too, he continued, a soft smile now painting his lips. pausing for a moment, he grasped on the blue rose that had been between their held hands, and gently tucked it before her ear. his eyes narrowed as held on her hand once more, lips pursing slightly.
tell me what's bothering you.

WHEN WE MET I FELT MY LIFE BEGIN His answer was almost expected and almost obvious in a way, blue was the color of her eyes and the color of the rose but Alice thought that there had to be another reason that he wasn't sharing. It was like there was something just rested on the tip of his tongue that he had been meaning to tell her for ages. The phrase kept building and kept growing into something that would just sound silly in compared to how he really felt. But her eyes still rested on the rose in her hands and she admired the blue color since he had been able to make it a light blue like her eyes. "You did a very good job matching the color of my eyes. Do you look at my eyes often?" She asked and kept a playful tone with her voice since she wasn't trying to accuse him of being a stalker. But she wanted to know more about how he felt about her.
Once in a while she would notice things like the way Frank looked at her with anger in his eyes because another boy was speaking to her. But she always wrote it off since he never expressed anything towards her or even hinted at wanting something more from her. Alice liked a direct approach, some flirting with her and then asking her out, not the indirect approarch where someone hid in the corner and just grew angry when she was talking to someone else. But then again she hated to make judgements on people and try to figure out what they were thinking when clearly she had no clue. It wasn't even worth trying to figure people out when they always seemed to surprise her. Her gaze moved back towards him and watched him when he began to speak again. "Why do you get lonely? You know you are always welcomed to hang out with me." She commented while he motioned to the black lake.
Her smile grew wider when he recounted his tale of looking for the giant squid and then getting chased by merpeople. "Wow... that sounds exciting." She commented and it was like her eyes started to light up with the prospect of such an exciting adventure. "Promise that next time you go down for a swim you will take me?"Her tone was full of so much excitment and the worlds rolled off her tongue in rapid sucession. For a moment she hadn't even realized that he had moved right up to her again.
He pulled her back down from her fantasy adventure the moment that she felt his cold semi wet arm around her waist. It made the area that he touched on her sweater wet, which normally would have annoyed her, but right now she smiled. A soft girly giggle happened as he spun her and then dipped her. Every time she was with Frank there was this fun atmosphere between them and she really liked that. When he dipped her she instantly grabbed onto his shoulder with her free hand to steady herself from the unexpected dip.
But when he brought her up she moved a bit closer to him and rested her head on his chest while he spoke again. When she went to answer him Alice pulled her head up and tilted it so that she could speak to him. "I have a throng of admirers now?" She asked and was honestly surprised by that. Was he talking about her friends or guys that were actually interested in her. "And you know that I miss you. We need to hang out more often than this once in a while stuff. Honestly Frank I am offended. It's like you refuse to hang out with me when I am in a group of people. You know that you are more than welcome to hang out with my group of friends too."
Part of her wanted to see his face more and more with her friends, and she never minded their private meetings as well. He was her friend and all she wanted was to see him more. However there was this small fear that kept plaguing her and that fear was that she had upset him once, which is why he barely hung out with her anymore. Then he showed an act of compassion and placed the rose behind her ear. "What's bothering me? Nothing is bothering me. Everything is going very well and I am having a wonderful week. Is anything bothering you?"
It had been a stupid question to ask since Alice never had problems that she couldn't solve herself. Normally it was just balancing homework and her love of having a social life. Enemies at Hogwarts were mostly Slytherins and she didn't know what she did to upset them, but they hated her for some reason. "Actually... I do have one little thing that bothers me." She said and looked right up into his eyes. "Frank... it always feels like you have something on your mind that you want to talk about. I am your friend and you can talk to me me about anything. I just want you to know that."

[style=width:300px; height: 300px; background: url(http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj566/mildevo/frank/frank-8.jpg)] , my heart is yours was he that so obvious now? perhaps this was just the sign he needed, to know that she was the one girl who could unravel him in so many ways, in the most subtle ways possible. it was becoming frightful, really, how daunting the realization came. it was in his nature to be always at ease with everything, and contaminate those around him with his easing presence. yet, it seemed there was a whole nother definition when it came to being around someone you just couldn't take your eyes off. that just felt like.. as if the stars above only shined for the two of them, dancing in melodious silence, with his mind running a thousand miles over so many possiblities. it was now just apparent that he just needed the right timing to convey what his heart felt, into words. which was becoming less and less exciting and more and more disheartening-- she clearly did not want anything more from him other than their bonded friendship. needn't be necessary, miss logan, he replied lightly, raising his eyebrows in a form of playful acknolwedgement, i know i can pester the life out of you with limitless access granted. he lowered his face to hers, his forehead meeting hers as he gave yet another playful smile. oh dear, do i really bother you? shall i leave for your convenience? he gave some distance as he twirled her twice around, pulling her back into him at once gently, giving a wink.
i'm just too frightening for your dearest admirers, darling; they do not desire for my presence like you do. and in any case, disarming surrounding girls was a sure thing, which he wouldn't want to do with alice around. they were, by all means, entertaining prettifuls, but his taste for surrounding companies was more favourable to those witty, desirable, and challenging. he preferred banters and playful tease than the common one-and-two relationship; this was mainly why his inner circle of friends were a mixture of all houses, and made so playfully disarray that they never failed to make his day, if ever things were going bland and stagnant. or like the way you wish to apprehend the merpeople with your breathless beauty, which i shall take delight from, when you do accompany me, he continued with a curt nod, bringing their entwined hands to his lips, as he planted a lingering kiss on the back of her hand. perhaps if he exhibited his truest emotions bit by bit, through mere actions alone, she would get the gist of his desires, and would start meeting him halfway. in truthful essence, it was now also becoming apparent that he was starting to lose his mind. but.. he needed the right timing, nothing more. because, in light of the fact that she was only making it clear that there was no wanting to ever become something more from her side, was now giving him the drive to lose hope.
and perhaps this was better, much better than false hope. or this was merely his mind in overdrive. sadly, we cannot all be living the luxury you gods are having, as we might just shadow over your perfection, he searched her eyes, finding himself getting lost in the sea of dazzling sky blue. so full and so enlightening, it was one of her many tools of keeping him uneventfully in order and decently behaved. and here he was, still pondering over that fact, wondering if was good or bad.
without so much as a thought, he leaned further down as he stopped his lead, placing a soft kiss on her cheek, withdrawing as he said, i've danced you to fullest of my heart's desire. he then moved his arm down between the back of her knees and lifted her into his chest, his other arm safely securing her upper body from the back. he then started walking to the direction of the castle, casting his eyes up over the lit windows of the towers. your eyes.. they enchant me. i can't help it. he paused for a moment, grinning. just out of curiousity.. how.. would you describe your perfect man?

WHEN WE MET I FELT MY LIFE BEGIN His reputation as being a man that could break a few hearts had become known to Alice when they were a few years younger. She used to hear girls speaking about how cute he was and then a few weeks later about how they had thier hearts broken into itty bitty pieces like an antique glass vase that shattered on the floor. The thought of going through such a painful break up did scare Alice in a slight way since she saw how those girl looked with thier broken hearts. It was like their soul had been ripped from them and it was all because a boy no longer wanted to be with them. When Alice would sit with them, so they had a friend to talk to, she would remain quiet and let the girl cry or scream about how awful that boy had been. Then they would look as if they had been defeated in some horrific battle. She had always hoped that falling in love and staying in love would be easy for both her and the man that she wanted to be with.
But she liked the way that Frank spoke to her and the way that their foreheads touched. It sent a slight shiver down her spine every time he gave her that smile and in responce she would smile just a little bit bigger for that moment. Another playful giggled escaped from her lips as he spun her around. "Please... don't leave. I love your company more than I could express." She commented. It was the truth, she loved his company and everything that came with it. Then his comment about her admirers made her think a bit more about Frank and his intentions towards her. It was like he was trying to admit to wanting her but she didn't want to become just another girl that he was with briefly since she never wanted to be a girl with a broken heart. But before she could comment on her admirers again he mentioned the merpeople. "oh please... beauty alone will not stop them and you know that my dueling skills are good enough to defend us. When will we go? Tomorrow perhaps? I am free tomorrow afternoon if you want."
The idea of swimming in the black lake excited her and she hoped that he would take her for a swim soon. But if he wasn't available tomorrow then she would accept another day and annoy him until he took her. The feeling of thier hands entwined felt warm even though his hand was still damp from his swim but then the soft skin of his lip was pressed against the back of her hand. The moment that his lips touched her, she felt her heart flutter so quickly that every breath was taken from her body. It was the perfect moment and her smile just light up her entire face as she searched for some sort of words for Frank. Her mind just went completely blank and no coherent thought could be formed to even describe how she felt in that moment.
In fact nothing even pulled her back into thier little moment until he placed an arm under her leg and lifted her up into the air. Instantly she wrapped her arms around his neck since she was scared of being dropped. And truth be told she was not too fond of being picked up but she wouldn't argue with Frank right now after the kiss on the hand and on the cheek. Then she looked back at him when he spoke. "My perfect man... To be honest I had never really thought about it before." She answered quickly and then took a moment to think about it. It was a surprising question that she had not been expecting, but she had a general idea of what she wanted. Nothing too complicated but someone who believed in simple and pure love. A boy who would never even try to break her heart. "Well first of all he would have to be a nice man and fun to be around. Definatly would need to have a good heart. I guess I would like him to be taller than I am. And my parents would have to like him as well"
She answered and then had an idea. Part of her wanted to see if Frank liked her or not. "You know Frank... you have a good heart and you are definately taller than I am. Plus we have a good time together." She said with a tone that stronger suggested something to him. Then she added in a flirty little smile to try and pry some answers out of him. Now she had toyed with the idea of going on a date with Frank but then her friend Molly dated him and how could she betry her friend like that. But now the idea was becoming more and more appealing since Frank was starting to have some magic on Alice. The charm and his smile were starting to work on her. "And what is your perfect woman like?" Now she was curious for his responce to her last few statements.

[style=width:300px; height: 300px; background: url(http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj566/mildevo/frank/frank-8.jpg)] , my heart is yours he stiffened slightly, raising an eyebrow in pure question as he looked down to her, then forward to complete darkness. he was ready for a slip-up, ready for a fall-- he was ready for anything, except for that question which she had so easily uttered to his ears. describing her to-be was symphony in his ears, and he had rather enjoyed just the briefest of descriptions. no matter how complex she was, she still managed to be seem so simple and uncomplicated, that the sound of his heart beating was almost defeaning.
truth of the matter was, he had thought that molly was the perfect one. there was fire in her that couldn't be matched; her smiles that wouldn't leave his mind until they would meet again and torment him with more; her predisposition to swaying to the most random subjects, from pixies to the ingredients of lemon tart, or the way she spoke so admirably about her certain regard for knitting and all the context included within, to the way she would laugh and be telling jokes of how her twin brothers did such and such. to even begin to think about her would include a massive flood attack of flashbacks, the most pleasant ones of how she would ease into his arms as they would see the sun set, or how she would surprise him with yet another knitted sweater, beanie or gloves. their relationship was sheer perfection, and he stopped his thought there. perhaps the moment had been perfect at that time, but in all honesty, he had always had a.. natural pull towards alice that he just couldn't shake off, no matter how many times he'd tried to shake it off.
undoubtedly, his reputation among her lady friends would be evident and very gratified for her knowledge, so how was he to see a chance in this ridiculously unpredictable relationship they called friendship? well, certainly. he could start with reading between the lines, to which he gave a slight smirk to. anything in the section of flirtation, he had revised reviewed, and even written, and her words were dripping with honey full of sweet coquetry. he didn't want to assume too much of this, as she was torturing him just being around, but in playful fairness, to reciprocate to his actions in the same manner.. well, that suggested for other things to be compromised. you're statement is rather vexing there, my lady alice, he replied with a knowing smirk, at ease at how he walked up the slope with her in his arms, feeling quite proud that he wasn't showing any signs of weakness or clumsiness around the very woman he was trying to impress. how very coy of you, to test such strings on me, he continued with a chuckle, feeling rather englightened. as far as he was concerned, she'd shown no entertainment to the those competing for her heart other than him, which had suddenly lit a match in his dimming hope to claim her as his own.
this was why, she became so intriguing in the first place. she wasn't.. predictable, and seemed to be oblivious to her shoot-downs on him everytime she would go on about their bond as friends and so forth. it was dangerously deviant of her, to be eliciting such words, so he could presume that she'd read all his little signs and actions. if she knew what she was playing with, would that mean that she was considering getting on the boat with him? in all his years knowing her, she was rarely the type to fool around with someone's emotions, let alone hurt them. she offered only her gentle words and daring bravado that boasted of non-comformity and sense of decency, not to mention her bubbly laugh or her smile that would melt his heart to. "i will never leave you, even if you are surrounded by merpeople tomorrow afternoon," he hushed as his feet finally collided with the stone floors, smirking at how weightless she felt.
alice was his perfection, there was no doubt about it. to answer your very daring question, she.. only likes to be held by me and no other. she burns with sapphire eyes that can make me stare for hours, with a smile so angelic, that i would thank god for sending her here, to mingle among us mortals who so desire for such picturesque glory. he paused, letting his eyes survey their surrounding area. "she's the only one who can make me believe that the world isn't descending to chaos with a simple laugh or a tone of her calming voice, and she doesn't know that she tortures me with her mere presence alone. she also fancies taller guys," he added, his voice slightly stronger and sounding more daring as he crossed the courtyard, swallowing as the ajar doors of the entrance shed a fair amount of light for them. and doesn't mind that i can act like a doof and a reckless child on whim. she'll like that we have a good time whenever we're together. his voice broke as he stopped just a few feet from the doors, carefully setting her down to her feet, swallowing as he reached to touch her cheek and rest his hand there, thumb grazing slowly and gently up and down her rosy cheeks. her name is alice marie logan, and she's one of the few reasons why i wake up to greet the sun, he finished, locking deep with her eyes. the moment..
alice.. if i asked you if i could kiss you, would you let me?
