mika kataleya avery
," her voice cut deep and cold, tone dripping with the mixture of honey and acid. she sits with immaculate poster, her chin raised slightly, her legs crossed. not a smile or an expression of expressed gratitude has crossed her face ever since she's set foot in this building.
full name: mika kataleya avery
age: seventeen
year: 7th
birthday: third, september
blood line: pureblood
occupation: student
former / house: slytherin
she's only doing this for her father, who, she believes, has made a terribly horrifying mistake of even staying with his cheater of a wife. anyway, it's a good thing she's taking some time away from home, because she hasn't even cast her gaze towards the bitch since the start of summer. since the day she and the other man were found out.
her eyes are steeled, cold and distant. any other time, the circumstances would have been different; she loved ministry workers, and have gotten close to most since her father worked closely with the minister. she loves making friends with older people, because they are not immature and level with her height of intellect and mannerisms. though she's always believed that she's more surperior than most. "mika, please," kylie frowns, but mika's expression remains. "i thought you would be able to handle this maturely. benjamin.. your father, he-- you mentioned once, didn't you, that you don't hold grudges--" "this is entirely different. i am not the only one who has been felled, kylie," she cuts through, pang of annoyance and irritation clear in her reply. her brows furrow, and she casts her eyes to the window, out into the world. to the skies, where she feels that the shattered pieces of her heart will never touch. up, so that she may never be able to see them reflect.
gone are the days when she would ever feel proud to be known for her name, for even though she doesn't care to be attacked and let herself be stabbed by whispers and rumours behind her back, she knows it will always be because she will never feel whole again. it has always been easy to reject and forget those she once called her friends and lovers, always easy to insult and rebuke those that were lesser and pure filth. she, her father, mother and brothers have always been stuck with each other like no one cared, and it was from this broken bond that she can no longer get herself to feel and express what is really hiding in her chest. this is more than shame, or anger, or remorse. sadness is welling and festering inside her chest, and it builds as she hides and ignores it, every single day that passes by.
being brought in unfathomable love and luxury, she is a prima donna through and through; conceited, well-reserved, silver-tongued and brash. she is the white flower in the flower, often being mistaken for being her elder brother's lover, and never failing to make an impression to those that pretend not to care. this is why, she cannot get herself to feel feeble or decrepit by a simple stumble along her road of life. she has been taught to despise the unworthy, alienate the filthy, ignore the poor, deceive the liars and degrade the plastics and social-climbers. she has been raised in a home where art, wine and history coincide easy, where ballroom dancing is a must to learn, where lady and gentleman etiquette are well observed, where panache, style and honour are appreciated. where she can play rough with her brothers and talk to them without having to feel the awkward boundaries of the usual sibling love, where she's able to converse with the house elves, where she feels most oustanding when her fingers play the piano and move the bow on the violin. where truths are valued, honesty is worn and bluntness is accepted. where secrets are told and problems are not brooded over. where she once loved her mother.
the woman made her everything she is, the one who would absolve the wrongs of her children, the one who had taught she and her siblings, the irrelevance of walls and facades.
the one who taught mika to be true to her nature, to be never ashamed for what she is and who she stood for.
this is why she doesn't lie, or talk behind people's backs. this is why she is blunt, witty, abstract and insensitive, cares to be modest but doesn't hold back on her opinions. this is why she is feisty and an uncommon debater, why she is a seductive serpent who will only treat the right people rightly and the wrong people wrongly. this is why she has ara as her best friend, frank as her entertainer, and kevin as her punching bag-- for they accept her for what she is and vice versa.
"bridgette is still your mother, and she will love you until your dying days. do you know the luxury you still have, to have a mother in your life? "
she doesn't hold grudges, but she doesn't forgive easy. there is a difference.
"spare me your web of fallascious words, kylie." their eyes are locked. "the only reason why i have not walked out of that house is because i love my father. i love my brothers, and myself." she stands, the expression in her eyes burning cold and harsh.
"and i will not ruin that, for the woman i no longer love."
