gavin was nowhere near clueless as to what this analysis really was; just another one of the tricks from the ministry to question his place in a castle full of living, breathing humans. the prejudice act was starting to bore him-- the stretched time and short, awkward pleasantries made the impression enough for him. "how did you meet professor dumbledore, again?" again, with the cautious tone. honestly, he'd have thought they had enough logic in them to know that he was, as far as his façade carried him, harmless. after all, he had been teaching for quite some time now.
"because my father fell in love with my mother, he ran away. from his duties, and from his family." he leaned back to divulge in the comfort of his chair, crossing his legs as he continued on his answers. "fitting, really. a romanian royalty, of vampire blood, fleeing from his responsibilities to be with the one he loved. i've always liked to think of it as him following my great-grandfather's footsteps, who had been denamed and rejected from the family when he ran off with a veela. as far as my knowledge can take me, he was able to transform into a human, and spent his dying days with the veela. happily." he blinks, lowering his gaze to the floor for a moment of contemplation, before setting his eyes back up once more. "inevitably, my father was also rejected and exiled, but the thing was, he was the only heir to the throne, and his name couldn't very well be denounced from it, since he carried the only remaning bloodline." briefly, he paused, leaning down to reach for the steaming mug of coffee on the coffee table, bringing the rim of the mug to his lips and tilting the vessel up slightly.
"years later, after i was born and hit the age of non-aging, we received word that grandfather had been struck ill, and was hanging on to life by a thread.[/b]" a faint smirk of amusement painted his lips. "well, when you've lived well over six centuries, there's bound to be some things that don't function properly anymore. even if you are a vampire." he remained expressionless at the tweak of the eyebrow the therapist gave away, and at the flinch of the forefinger that remained still on top of his clipboard. now it was just getting amusing. "at that time, my father still did not desire for his rightful place in the family, and so i, his first-born and only son, had every right to take it from him. all it would take is for him to claim the name of king for a little while, and then declare me of his place." he pursed his lips. his eyes darkened. "at this, no doubt many of my relatives did not approve of a reject and tainted blood to take the royal throne, so they placed a price on my head; i became a moving target. however, they did not account how long i've lived, or who i've had the pleasure to be mentored under. naturally, i crossed the continent, to take away the dangers from my parents."
a slight prideful emotion crossed his face and disappeared in an instant.
"but.. the time came when my oppressers became too many for me to handle, and so after they've had their way with me, they left me dying, crucifying me on a tree, with my wrists and the middle of my feet pierced through with large nails." he sighed, closing his eyes for a moment; he'd hoped he wouldn't have to go this far to explain himself out. "..albus found me. willingly catered to my needs, and treated me under his hospitality. in exchange, i told him of my story, after which, he offered a teaching job for me. said he'd been endeavouring this quest for weeks, and commented on how 'delightfully lucky' that our paths would cross."
his lips curve into a smirk at the surprise expression of the man, with a mixture of shock and offense somewhere in there. "i'll admit, that i did not possess any quality for teaching, other than my knowledge in the dark arts and the like. you see, i, unlike my colleagues, grew up in a much rougher terrain, and had to deal with a lot of stares and whispers behind my back. my father bred me to be a fighter, and apparently, that is a well-enough quality for someone to teach what he knows." he remains slient as he utters the last syllable of his words, breaking the prolonged eye contact to take another sip of his coffee, then placing his eyes to the direction of the glass wall of a window. such kindness people treated the likes of him, it was almost overwhelming. fortunately, nervous-twitch seems ready to take his role as the lead in their dance.
"calculating, approachable, lenient.. uhh, strong-willed and never fails to make a powerful impact to his students and his colleagues alike.." he mest gavin's eyes before lowering his eyes once again. "veracious, neat, punctual. posses a disarming charm that enchants those around him.. etremely.. err, persuasive and obnoxiously charismatic.. i see." gavin tilts his head down in gesture for understanding, raising an eyebrow for him to continue. he doesn't mean to be rude, but he did leave a stack of unchecked papers, and being him, he likes to check his students' works individually and personally.
"may i ask, how you can walk under the sun?" he smiles at the anxiety dripping in his voice-- of course this was needed to be asked. he lifts his left hand, where a rather ancient-looking ring with complex engravements, decorated his middle finger. "my mother.. was a witch, so it's slightly more advanced compared to the tricks of my other heritage." the young man nods. "and the students, do they know?" his eyes soften. "my being vampire remains in the knowledge of my colleagues and no other. oh and, i did tell you. i lived in a rougher terrain. my complexion's rebelled against the traditional pearly-skin. the renegade blood runs in me, i guess."
the therapist nods, closing his mouth, before pausing for a brief moment. he raises a puzzled face to gavin.
"professor dumbledore must not be allowing you to kill to sate your hunger.. how.." his eyes widens. "unicorn blood-- ?"
gavin laughs slightly, shaking his head in disbelief. although, he supposed, the thought did occur more than once.
he smirks.
