rp sample: In all the years that she had been at Hogwarts, Andromeda could count on one hand just how many times she had been to the west tower, also known as the owlery. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the owls, she found them to be intelligent creatures even if they did have a nasty habit of biting at one’s fingers. No, what made her avoid the place was the mess that always seemed to be there, no matter what times of day or year. Having come from a wealthy family, Andromeda found that she liked things clean. There had always been house elves around who made sure that not a single speck of dust remained on the furniture and kept things in order. Even with out them, she kept her part of the dorm room spotless and organized, which was more than she could say for some of dorm mates.
Standing in the doorway that led into the tower, Andromeda hesitated. She really didn’t want to go in there and she was beginning to think that she should have just given her mail to Bella or Cissy to send home. That was what she had done in the past and part of her wondered what had made her decide that she herself would to it now. Her eyes roamed over the floor, noticing not only the dirt tracked in by other students but also, and more concerning, the amount of bird droppings. Her eyes then moved to her shoes, her nice, clean, spotless shoes and she let out a sigh of annoyance. She really didn’t want to muck up her shoes, or have a bird dropping land on her hair. As if to reassure herself, Andromeda reached a hand up to run over her dark hair, glad to find it still dropping free.
Second began to tick by, slowly turning into minutes and still Andromeda stayed where she was. She was extremely glad that no one was around to witness this since it would certainly lower her image. Andromeda; from the noble and pure house of Black, afraid to enter the West Tower for fear of bird droppings. Realizing that at any moment someone could come by and question what she was doing, Andromeda took a deep breath and went a few steps inside the tower. There, that wasn’t so hard. Now all she had to do was to find the family owl, send her letter home, and then be gone from this place. Possibly to take another shower.
Her eyes focused on the ground, Andromeda took a few more steps, dancing around the droppings while constantly fearing more would fall. It didn’t take long to find the family owl, though this mostly had to do with it coming down to great her and she hastily gave it the message and a treat before it took off. Having achieved her task, Andromeda went to turn and leave when she felt her right boot slip a little. With a gasp, she looked down to find that she had missed a dropping and had managed to not only step in it, but also somehow smear it on the side of her shoe. With a gasp, she quickly pulled out her want and muttered a cleaning spell, relief settling over her when the spot disappeared. With her shoes not once again clean, Andromeda began to trace her steps back to the door.
