I think I'm falling in love with you
My heart is beating faster than I want it to

It was in the middle of the afternoon, which meant break time for Lily. She was on her way down to the Owlery to deliver a letter to her parents. She had made it a point to write to them at least a few weeks each month just to let them know how she was doing. She had told them everything that had been going on. Her father had found it amusing that a boy made his day by chasing after Lily. They would even be more shocked when they found out that Lily had decided to give him a chance. She snorted a little to herself as she walked through the halls, weaving her way in and out of the student population. Many of them waved to her. She returned the wave with a smile of her own. Most of them, being Slytherins, had muttered underneath her breath, cussing her out and pretty much calling her every name underneath the sun. She shrugged it off as she gave them a dark glare. With her six years in the wizarding world, Lily simply could not understand the simple idea about the whole blood purity. It was idiotic and gave the red haired girl a headache to think about. She had read about different races being killed off simply for the fact that they didn’t look like an ideal race. She pushed back a couple of strands of her hair that had managed to fall into her eyes.[/blockquote]
She bit down on the inside of her cheeks. That was a habit of hers whenever she was lost in thought. Then again it took her a while to get out of her mind. She blinked a couple of times as silence met her ears. She was already up in the towers. Most people usually didn’t come this way unless they were, like her, on a mission. I have to pay attention to my surroundings more, she mused a little to herself. It did help that she had walked from the Gryffindor Common Room. She shook her head at herself as she opened the door to the Owlery. Soft hooting met her ears as she whistled for one of the school owls. A light brown one flew down and held out its leg. It was one that had always delivered a letter. “Hey there girl,” she told it while carefully tying up the letter to its leg. “You know where to go.” The owl hooted softly before taking off. There was a smile on her face as she leaned up against the wall, watching her flying off into the sky. She glanced down at the grounds. A lot of students were heading out to the lake, which surprised her. Maybe they were getting the last few bits of sunshine before fall really took over. It was slowly turning into jacket season again. She never liked the winter months for the coldness but Lily did love the snow.
An odd combination she knew it was. Lily was more of a summer and spring person. She loved being outside in the warm weather. A memory passed through her mind and she frowned, shaking her head. Lily didn’t want to think about the incident that happened last year. She didn’t want to think about that at all. Think of something else, she told herself repeatedly. Think of something else. A light breeze ruffled through the trees, making them sway. It was hard to believe it was already October. The first month of school seemed to have gone by fast. That’s what I get for having fun, she thought to herself and grinned. Her ears pricked forward, hearing the sounds of footsteps and the door slowly opening. Oh dear, she thought as she slowly turned around to see who it was. I had done it again.
