i need a n o t h e r story something to get off my c h e s t • • • • • This morning Edric hadn’t felt like going into work. He was still trying to get over the hangover he was having right now. He just wanted to lie in bed and stay there for the rest of the day. But of course he had a job to do. The world was full of wizards and witches doing bad things, so as long as that was happening Edric would have to get up and go to work. He sighed and rubbed his face as he made his way out of bed, dressed and out the door in no time. The trip to the Ministry wasn’t too long. Once he was inside the Ministry he took the elevator up to the Magical Law Enforcement Department. He stared as the numbers went up until it reached the floor and the door pushed open. He stepped out and nodded to the girl at the front desk and walked down the hallways towards the offices.
He was sure there would be loads of paperwork on his desk, it was always there. When he made it too his office, he walked in and shut the door, drowning out the noise outside the office. He yawned and sat down in his chair, sipping a coffee he had brought on the way here. He put it down before he pulled over a file on his desk. It could be another hit, tracking down a dark witch or wizard, maybe it was someone respecting protection from a dark wizard, and most of the time it was someone who knew where a dark witch or wizard was hiding.
He flipped open the file and started to read. Just as he had thought, there was a lead on a wizard they were looking for but hadn’t been able to find him. Someone at the Hog Head’s might know where he is. He grumbled and took another sip of his coffee, now he would have to make his way over to the Hog Head’s and find this person. There were faster ways of getting there, but right now Edric needed another coffee. He got up and threw out his empty cup, grabbed his badge on the table and left his office. He headed out of the Ministry and towards the train station. He waited in line then boarded the train. He kept his eyes open and always watching around him. You can never be too careful, some wizards or witches will try something in the open in the muggle world. They don’t care, it if helps there escape, or taking someone out, they don’t care who else they hurt will doing it. When things like that happened, the muggles would report it has some unexplained accident or some mad man blowing up a building. The train stopped and he moved into the coward as they too got off the train.
The way to Hogsmeade wasn’t far to walk, plus Edric liking walking anyways, go way to keep in shape. Which he needed to be in order to track down dangerous people. He hadn’t been to Hogsmeade in a while; most of the time when he did come it was only for a few moments before he was off again. He knew that if he stayed long and had a drink here he might run into someone he knew, and he just didn’t know what he would do. He hated that he had pushed everyone away, but had happened left him empty and in his mind alone, so he cut off from that part of his life and started one where he didn’t give a care in the world if it ended. His nights were spent drinking at bars in London and not remembering anything in the morning; it was his way of drowning out every little thing that might remind him of Bry.
As he entered Hogsmeade he took a quick looked around and went off towards the Hog’s Head. He pushed open the pub door and walked in, talking in the faces of the people who were already inside. Well so far none of them looked anything like the man he was looking for. Maybe he had got word the Magical Law Enforcement Department was looking for him and went into hiding himself. No matter Edric had time to waste and wait for him. He could go out and have a quick smoke before coming back in and sitting down to a nice drink and watch for him. He opened the door and pulled his coat closer as a wind chill went by; he pulled out his pack of smokes. As he was walking a bit from the pub, to try and get somewhere where the wind wasn’t blowing so he could light his smoke he hadn’t noticed he almost ran into someone.“Sorry Miss”,he spoke with his thick Scottish accent, not looking up from where he was trying to light the match, when he finally did, he puffed from his smoke and looked behind where the person had just passed him, all he could see was the back of them. • • • • • my life gets k i n d a boring need something that i can c o n f e s s words || 851 tag || Fiona! outfit || click lyrics || "Secrets" by OneRepublic credit || i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0 notes ||Hope this is ok!

after the storm, and there will come a time you'll see, with no more tears. and love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears. Get over your hill and see, what you find there, With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.
the morning air was chilly. it was october after all, and the winds had turned cooler and the nights had become longer. it was a sunday morning, and as fiona stepped outside, the wind prickled at her face and she pulled her sweater closer around her body as she made her way to the train station for hogsmeade. it was fairly early in the morning still. she had awoken from bed around eight and headed down for breakfast. she had kept to herself, bringing down a book to the great hall to accompany her while she ate. she knew that she would have to go to hogsmeade this weekend, though she didn't really want to go alone. her brother had made other plans though and none of her friends were really interested in going. but she needed to get more supplies for potions class, and she wanted to check out the bookstores to see if there was anything she hadn't read yet and would be interested in buying.
she had gotten an owl and a package from her parents just yesterday morning, supplying her with a little bit of extra change for her supplies and books. fiona was grateful to her parents for all their support, especially because all of their children had turned out to be wizards. but their family was incredibly close, even after everything that had happened with her older brother edric. if anything, the family got even tighter after he pushed everyone away, and fiona knew that her family were the few people who truly knew and loved her. fiona was different than most people, in the fact that she would rather be buried in a book than out partying. actually, the idea of a loud crowd made fiona nervous. she liked the quiet and the peaceful and had always enjoyed time by herself. a lot of people didn't understand fiona and her shy nature, but she had her art to let out her emotions and to understand her. she had never been one to need the reassurance of others.
after she finished eating, she finished grabbing everything she needed for her trip to hogsmeade and boarded the train. book in hand, she barely felt the trip. she was currently reading a novel from the muggle world, the author, jane austen, a popular one known worldwide. the book was entitled persuasion and she was falling in love with the characters more and more as the pages turned. the story followed a woman who was persuaded out of marriage with a man, then eight years later then have met once again, and their journey of falling love with one another. the story really had nothing to do with her or her life, but she couldn't help but relate to the eight year gap of life they had missed in one another.
eight years ago was the last time she had seen or heard from her brother edric. she was only eight years old then, and there had been so much time that passed between then and now. sometimes fiona wondered where her brother was, hopeful that he was alive somewhere and living happily. other times, she was angry and cursed him for separating himself the way he did. she had needed an older brother then, or one that had been through school before and knew the ropes. both her and her closest, elder brother had needed someone for guidance. she had changed so much since she was eight. she had grown up for one thing. she had gone through puberty and had turned into that doe eyed, quiet girl that was sorted into ravenclaw. hell, edric didn't even know that his brother and sister were wizards. he didn't know what she looked like or what house she had been sorted in. she wondered if he even knew if they were all still living in scotland. she really had no idea about him, and she had so many unanswered questions. she felt incomplete, and wondered, or hoped, that he thought of her too.
when the train got to hogsmeade, she hopped off, heading off to finding her potion supplies. school supplies would come first, then she would be able to fill up with books, whether they were fictional or would benefit her knowledge she didn't care. if she saw something she liked, she would probably pick it up, or a few books. she hurried through her school potions, they weren't a problem as she had brought a list and there was someone in the shop to help her out. then, she headed to look for books. after about forty-five minutes, she ended up walking out of the store with only three new books. it was self control on her part, as well as not being able to afford anymore without feeling guilty about spending all of the money her parents gave to her.
she was heading back to the train station, books in hand, when someone nearly plowed right into her, catching her completely off guard to the point where one of the books in her hand slipped onto the cold ground. the man let out a small response of apology as she walked by, and she picked her book up quickly, before the realization hit her. fiona stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes wide and her heart pounding in her chest. she knew that voice, thick with a scottish accent. and from the brief second of seeing him near her, she wouldn't have second guessed it was the one person she never would have expected to see here in the streets of hogsmeade. almost afraid of being wrong, and her heart broken once again, she turned around slowly, her eyes wide with surprise and unanswered questions. her mouth and lips suddenly becoming dry and her breath quickening. when her eyes locked on the man she was standing in front of, her heart skipped a beat. edric griffiths stood in front of her, smoke in hand. her brother. a man she hadn't laid her eyes on in eight years. heart in her stomach, she finally was able to get up the nerve to speak. "ed-edric?"

i need a n o t h e r story something to get off my c h e s t • • • • • Some days Edric never got out of the office. Most of the time he needed to get out and have some fresh air, track down some leads maybe have a drink or something. It was just those times when he needed to get out of the office. Most morning he would just stay in bed, call in sick and waste the day away drinking himself back to sleep. Sure this wasn’t the life he had planned out when he was younger. No when he was seventeen and ready to leave Hogwarts, his plan had been to take the love of his life and run away with her. Her parents were purebloods and he was muggle born so in their eyes it would have been wrong. But Edric hadn’t cared he would have done anything for Bryanna, he would fight off one thousands witches and wizards just to protect her. But as faith would have if when something got good in Edric’s life it would come crashing down. First he had been the death of his father, and then if had been Bry leaving him standing there at the train station. Now because of all that pain he had turned into this, what he was now today, and looking back he would have told himself he would never be like this.
It was normal for a person they were tracking to be not there. He had traveled all over looking for people before and there leads had been wrong. Some snitch’s like to play the Ministry. It wasn’t uncommon and most of them didn’t want them to find the dangerous witches and wizards. The Ministry wasn’t stupid, that’s why they had the different levels of the Magical Law Enforcement Department to deal with anything and everything that was in the magical world. So here he was, trying to track down a wizard who had information. Who knew if he really did having anything to say, maybe he was just using Edric and the Ministry for protection and a free deal. That would depend on what this wizard had to say about the man they were trying to track down right now. If his information panned out then he would get the protection he wanted from the Ministry. His boss didn`t take things lightly and either did the Ministry they knew there was a threat of war out there and it was everyone`s job to make sure it didn`t happened and if somehow it did, then they would be there to protect everyone, magical world and muggle world as well.
He hated October, it was colder, it rained all the time, and Edric always had trouble trying to light his smoke whenever the wind would blow by and put it out. He hadn`t been watching where he was going, his head down, only looking to make that smoke light so he could distress a bit while he waited. Edric had always been a gentleman, so when he had bumped into the lady he had to say he was sorry. It was his flaunt he had run into her. When he turned around to look, he only saw the back of her and turned back to the way he was heading. Finally, he thought when the smoke lit up and he took a puff of it. That’s when he heard his name. He turned back around again and stared at the lady, who was the one he had just bumped into. He studied her face for a moment. For some reason he knew that face from somewhere. This was one of the reasons he never stayed long in Hogsmeade because of stuff like this."Yes, do I know you",he ask her. She knew his name so he must have met her somewhere; he brain was running throughout his mind, he had no clue where he had met this young lady.
The more he studied her face and more he saw it and the more he saw it, he felt his heart drop and he couldn`t breathe. He took a step back it just felt like a train hit him. He couldn’t speak. What would he say anyways; Oh I am sorry for not being there for the last eight years, I am sorry I pushed you away let me make it up now. Edric had a feelings his sister wouldn`t forgive him that easy."Fiona" was all that came out at of his at the moment. He really couldn`t breathe right now, he couldn`t speak, he wanted to say so much but as soon as he opened his mouth nothing. Bloody hell, his mind screamed at him. How could he not had known it was her to begin with, this was his sister for Merlin`s sake. How stupid could he be? Ì uhh ,he was trying his best to say something at else. There was so much he wanted to say, he was sorry, he wanted to make everything up. He knew she would have questions for him, like where the hell were you when I needed you kind of thing. But the only reason Edric hadn`t gone home after being left at the train station was because he was a mess. He didn’t want her to see him like that, he didn`t want his family to see him like that. A messed up seventeen year old who had just wasted himself. He had thought about coming home, after the train station he found a local bar and drank himself full and he had been ready to head home, but he couldn`t let a small child see the brother they looked up to like that. What kind of example would he set for her and his younger brother?
"I am sorry about earlier", he said somehow finding his voice somehow. He could see he had missed so much, the facts were right in front of him. She was here buying books, and if she was here in Hogsmeade that meant she was a witch. Did that mean his brother was as well. How was the family, his parents. She had changed as much, from that little girl who would run around the manor book in hand bugging Edric to read her the story. And now here she was in front of him, a young lady and more than likely in Hogwarts, was his guess. He had so many questions, and he was sure that she had just as many questions for him. It was cold outside and he didn`t want her to stay out here and get a cold if they were going to talk about things.Could we uh… go somewhere and talk, he asked her. Hoping Fiona would take the offer he really wanted to talk with his sister again, even if it was for a few seconds that would be great. He past life was catching up with Edric and it was smacking him right in the face and it was time to stop running and face it head on. • • • • • my life gets k i n d a boring need something that i can c o n f e s s words || 1,172 tag || Fiona! outfit || click lyrics || "Secrets" by OneRepublic credit || i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0 notes ||Hope this is ok!

after the storm, and there will come a time you'll see, with no more tears. and love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears. Get over your hill and see, what you find there, With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.
fiona felt speechless. her whole body tensed under the circumstance of seeing edric, and for a moment she thought she should pinch herself to make sure that all of this was real and that she was not, in fact, dreaming. but the thumping of her heart told her just how real this was. edric was standing in front of her. in the streets of hogsmeade. her whole world had just been set on fire and she felt her voice shrinking away inside of her even further than it normally did. but another part of her, the brave part of her, was screaming thoughts of anger and rage. questions of why and how, and where had he been? but none of that matter. edric was here, in front of her. alive and well.
as he spoke, his voice questioning her, she felt her heart fall into her stomach. he had no idea who she was. of course he didn't. fiona scolded herself against the disappointment that was forming inside of her. the last time he had seen her she had been an annoying eight year old girl, tugging at his pant leg, following him around and asking him to read to her. a lot of things had changed since then, but her big blue eyes remained constant and her dark hair still fell to her shoulders. she stared into edric's eyes, feeling as if she had lost her voice and the only way to communicate with him was through her gaze. 'please remember me,' she pleaded inwardly. the thought repeated over in her head until she heard the small intake of air edric drew. "fiona," he spoke. she nearly crumbled upon hearing her name. he remembered her! he recognized her! sure there was a moment of doubt, but fiona could barely contain her joy. what did she do? what did she say. she was so clumsy and was struggling to find the right thing to say in this moment. all that slipped from her mouth was "yes. yes, it's me. fiona."
fiona thought that had she not been so surprised and stunned, she probably would have been in tears. how many times had she imagined this moment. planned, dreamed, feared. and now that she was presented with edric -- her eyes not lying to her, she could barely remember any of those scenarios. she stared at edric, mouth agape and still stunned. she could feel his uneasiness as he shifted his weight back and forth and struggled to find words to speak to her. fiona didn't take away from the awkwardness, as she hardly knew what to do with herself. a large part of her was retraining herself from throwing herself at him and hugging him tightly.
he looked so much older. of course he was older, but he just looked so much older and lived since the last fiona saw him. but he was only a child then, just eighteen, and had not gone out and lived on his own. now he had only been on his own. at least, that's what fiona guessed. unless there was some other reason. she really had no idea. and as a child growing up, it was hard to explain to the girl where her brother had gone and why he wanted to be away from her. it had crushed her.
his voice cut through her thoughts, apologizing about running into her. he was simply apologizing for running into her? that was all? she supposed that it must be a long story of his constant pulling away from the family, and one that he was not about to discuss here in the street. fiona simply shook her head, shrugging the incident off as if it were no big deal. if he hadn't run into her, they wouldn't have met here in the street, and fiona would have continued to question whether her brother was alive or not. she would have continued on with her life, perhaps not seeing edric for another ten years. him running into her was the best thing that had happened to her this year! he had nothing to apologize for there. only to apologize for his whereabouts and missing fiona's life. but none of that mattered right now. edric was here and she could tell him about everything. he was here now, and as long as now that she had found him he wanted to stay in her life, fiona would understand. what else would a little sister do? fiona knew she had forgiven edric long before this day.
"could we uh… go somewhere and talk?" the phrase wasn't unexpected, but fiona jumped inside, thankful he wanted to talk to her. he still cared, he still loved them, she thought hopefully. finding her voice she responded, "yes, please. where ever you want." she felt silly. she sounded silly. but she was just so excited to be here with edric. so excited to hear his voice and to simply talk to him! she looked longingly at edric's face, wanting to soak in this moment to last forever. "it's so good to see you." where ever edric wanted to go and talk, she would follow. just as she had years before.
