But she was hungry. The girl had skipped dinner to bawl her eyes out in her room. She was in pajamas, her eyes were puffy and red, and her hair pulled back into a high ponytail and a bit disheveled. She had gotten a message from her mother saying that she wasn't going to be home for Christmas break, again, and neither was her father. She was going to be spending another break here at school, with not even her sister and brother to share it with. Of course, her parents didn't know that her family wasn't on good terms, but it was definitely something she wouldn't be telling them anytime soon. Of course October loved the presents, but she hated that she got her own while her brother and sister got to share the family cheer that was supposed to be spent at Christmas. She didn't want to bring her food back to her room, since that would be strange, so she sat down and started to eat the food. It was delicious, as always, and it was just what she needed. She ate the food quickly and left it with the house elf she assumed was washing dishes. Seeing as that house elf moved it somewhere else, she felt like that they were not doing dishes in the first place. October turned around, completely ready to head back to the Hufflepuff common room in the dungeons when she saw a sight she didn't want to see. Anthony Mulciber. He was someone she had hooked up with once, which she had a history of, and it turned out that he didn't want anything else with her. Why would he? A Slytherin would never date a Hufflepuff. And he had turned abusive toward her, like most people did. She was scared to see him, scared to be near him, scared to talk to him. Nothing about him was pleasant with her anymore, and even if he wanted to have another night with her, she |
