Weekdays were insane around the Ministry, and as Senior Undersecretary Meredith hardly ever had any time to breathe. Sometimes she felt the same way in her personal life with the divorce, her kids, and just the simple insanity of having a high strung family. The moments she had all to herself were rare, and they were greatly appreciated. Whenever one managed to come up she usually spent them shopping because Meredith firmly believed that a good shopping spree could heal even the most stressed person. To say the least her closet doubled within the past few months from her so called 'stress relief.' Some of her friends called her obsession with buying things being a shopaholic, and that it was a serious problem, but she honestly didn't care about what they thought.
On the beautiful Saturday morning she had been given, Meredith had decided to go shopping. The weather had nothing to do with it at all for she had made plans to shop with someone else a while ago. The blonde woman was only happy to have a relatively nice day to walk and shop in. November had the tendency to be brisk, snowy, and horribly unpleasant which only made the whole shopping experience unpleasant. She was meeting up with Hailey Thomas. A wonderful young woman who's parents were complete and total idiots.
Meredith had known the Thomas family for many years, and even arranged for their children to have play dates with her own. From what she could tell they were a typical pureblood family just like her own. Although Meredith had been forced into supporting the ideals of the elite, she didn't particularly agree with everything they believed in. Using brute force to get people to do things certainly was not a way to keep them loyal, and Meredith favored using words and manipulation much better. When she found out that Hailey's parents had abused her because the sorting hat placed her in Ravenclaw Meredith was more than furious. The young Ravenclaw was only fifteen years old, and she was far from a bad kid. Hurting your own child went way over her head, and even though she knew Anthony was capable of doing something like that Meredith was not. That was one of the reasons she decided to file for divorce. She realized that this would be her first Thanksgiving without the whole family together, and to some extent that saddened her.
Before heading out to meet the young girl, Meredith took and shower and went through her morning routine. Despite the fact she wasn't working she liked getting up early and having time to prepare for her day. Sleeping to an ungodly hour was not something she liked to do, and in her mind it showed lack of control. Once she was dressed she left her house and apparated to Hogsmeade. Meredith made her way to where they decided to meet and made a list of what she wanted to get her family mentally. Today she had planned to accomplish quite a bit of holiday shopping so she could beat the 'last minute' crowd. The lines during the month of December were insane, and Meredith did not want to wait an hour to purchase her items if she could shop earlier and not wait too long.
