- Starry skies.
- Quiet places.
- A lovely book.
- Whiskey (But not to excess).
- Money. The more the better.
- Quidditch. At least watching it.
- Fire. Its so much fun to play with.
- Those quiet evenings with a special someone or at least a willing someone.
- Animals with big teeth. Big cats, wolves you name it. They just have so much power in a single bite.
- The sound of his own voice.
DISLIKES
- Being cold, or wet.
- Enclosed spaces.
- Extremists (On either side strangely).
- The sound of women/children crying. The pitch is so annoying
- Watered down whiskey.
- Parties. Entertaining is so over rated that's his family's job.
- Cats. They hack up hairballs everywhere!
- Being alone for long amounts of time.
- Carrots. They're terrible and I'm not a damn rabbit.
STRENGTHS
- Determined. Alan is pretty much a determined self starter. Once he gets an idea in his head its pretty much going to happen whether its a smart move or not. Which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have so many holes in most of his ideas.
- Educated. In his youth and even now, Alan was fortunate to have proper social standings and enough money in the family vault to pay for a proper education. Not all requiring the simple wave and flick of a wand but more important things. Like proper manners, speech and even a little musical talent.
- Independent. Alan really doesn't need anyone for much of anything. He's an independent type fellow that feels that falling back on another's help is a serious sign of weakness, although there have been a few times where members of his family have had to pull his butt out of the fire. But that doesn't count.
- Transfiguration. Not all dark wizards have that supreme love of dark magic. Sure its great and all but Alan finds transfiguration far more interesting then all that. Objects trading one form for another, its just amazing.
- Working Alone. Alan works far better on his own then in a group. More often then not he failed group assignments because working with others is just a complete pain in the arse. And that one potions assignment didn't count, he had been paired with a mudblood what did they think would happen?
WEAKNESSES
- Lets his emotions get the better of him. Taking things in stride doesn't often happen with Alan. Calm and collected thing is a complete and total joke (and its over rated). Normally after a long train of emotional upsets (or one big one) he tends to release everything at once and does a lot of damage in the process.
- Has a hard time keeping his temper in check. As stated, his temper has a very short fuse. Setting that aflame might not end the best for you, or others for that matter. Its just better to keep on his good side.
- Doesn't always think things through. If you haven't guessed, Alan doesn't always think things through. If something goes amiss or upsets him he wants it taken care of right that second. Proper planning is a complete waste of time. But not thinking things over does tend to blow up in his face. But he never learns.
- He's very vengeful. Hurt him or anyone he remotely cares for and die. No, so not kidding. Drop dead and save him the trouble because the last thing you're going to see is a flash of green light. And torture is a waste of time, he'd rather just kill now.
- Doesn't always keep his head in high pressure situations. High pressure situations often throw Alan for a loop and he normally doesn't take that fact very well. Its a weakness and he doesn't like it. Though he tends to look to others which have authority and his respect in those times even if he doesn't like admitting it.
GENERAL PERSONALITY
- Mental. Alan's know to be a little, well, mental. In fact, he has gotten quite to the point, over the last few years anyway, of conversing with himself, among other varied habits which are anything from twitchiness to his very short fuse. There are other things, of course but you get the idea.
- Warped Sense of Humor. You know that guy at the movies that laughs when someone dies? Well, that's Alan! The most un-amusing things to the rest of the world tickle his funny bone to no end. Don't believe me? Go ahead and die and see how much he laughs.
- Pragmatic. Life is filled with items that no one really ever needs. Worthless trinkets, old loves, they're all pointless and Alan refuses to accept them. If its not overly useful everyday then its not needed. But he does have a weak spot for shiny things.
- Reactive. Without fail, Alan is a very reactive person. Compared to his brother's clam collected nature, Alan's a loose cannon. This typically rears its head when he has been wronged in some fashion or someone pressing a few too many of his own buttons. When he finally hits the point of spewing liquid crazy all over anyone I wouldn't recommend being in his path. There's a good chance you might not be seeing tomorrow to regret your mistake.
- Sarcastic. Sarcasm is a lot of Alan's life and most of what finds its way out of his mouth unless he's really pissed off. Even serious topics are often degraded. Whether he means anything by it, is a whole other thing entirely.
- To the Point. Alan doesn't see the point in playing games and dancing around subjects. He's very blunt and to the point. If he doesn't like you, he doesn't like you. Glad handing and politics are not at all his strong point and seeing as how he is, it isn't going to be.
- Ticking Time Bomb. Alan tends to hold everything in until he finally blows up and goes on a killing spree (well, not always). Its always just a matter of time when such an event will occur, sometimes its set off by something as small as a misplaced fork.
- Court Jester. There is a bit of a humorous side to Alan that only a select few ever get the chance to see. That being said, it is far from the dark humor he normally shows. In fact, this more jester type side is almost fun loving. Playing games, teasing, other things that he often uses to bother his brother. The only thing that would make this part of him any more fun would be allowing him to wear an actual jester's hat.
- Loving? Though perhaps a terrible way to put it Alan has always had the ability to love and finding that special someone has always been something of interest. Most he has been with barely make it past the first night or two. But perhaps there is a person out there that could hold his interest and over look his flaws, there might be a relationship out there that goes farther from just his bedroom.
