[style=font-family:times; font-style:italic; line-height:20px; font-size:50; color:white; text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #444;]my heart IS FILLED WITH YOU fog materialized before him as he exhaled, chest falling as he heaved for yet another deep breath. an attempt to do such an action was outrageously idiotic, seeing the state of his physique, but he was frank. ignore the fact that every muscle ached, every bone feeling crushed or otherwise dislocated, lungs seeming so punctured that ever breath was a struggle and disturbingly sharp, and he was as he was, waking to another cold morning of november. his eyelids opened slowly, carefully, so as not to trigger the involuntary action of jumping or rolling off the bed.
he had realized that he was caught in momentary paralysis, so ignoring all of his temporary defects were verging unrealistic, but very much impossible.
blinking twice, he waited for another minute or two before biting his lower lip and turning his head, so as to estimate the amount of pain he was to endure for the rest of the day. the night prior had been too eventful, to say the least; after he took a brief dip in the lake for half an hour, he consumed yet another three hours roaming and helping clean the grounds. losing track of time, courtesy of hagrid, he was caught after curfew by filch, who had, incidentally, been looking for someone to clean the boys' bathroom on the third floor. the mystery as to how he miraculously collapsed on his own bed was now working the engine of his mind, and as he moved both hands on top of the mattress to ready his uplift, he realized that the last person he had talked to was-- he hissed in pain as pushed himself up, in shock to find the state of which his lungs had seemed to collapse to. he brought an arm in front of his chest, unaware that he was losing his balance, until he was falling forward once more, and thought to move back, but too soon did he do so that he was fast approaching the ground. with a loud thud, his side made contact with the wooden floors, managing to incite a loud groan from within his parted lips.
"frank," remus' disapproving, low voice managed to penetrate through the buzzing in his ears, after which he felt a hand on the side of his head, cushioning him from further pain. "good morning, remus [/b]," he managed to utter out, genuinely surprised at himself for managing to speak and not sound too hoarse. he'd figured the time would have to be after dawn, as the sun hadn't come out to warm him. " i hear they wake up like this in nepal[/b]," he remarked lightly, managing to etch out a grin, at least relieved that he managed to amuse his audience, if only so lowly. he lay immobile, afraid that the prefect would resolve to the one place he disliked the most. in all honesty, if he was given at least half an hour, just lying there, he was sure that his nerves would finally come to life and he would be as he was. granted, there would be a few stumbles here and there, but-- " the nurse won't be happy to see you again so soon, you know[/b]," remus teased, weaving an arm around frank's back and heaving him up slowly to his feet. frank clutched on to him for dear life, heart racing as his breathings came fast-paced. his conscious mind was darkening, and he felt himself about to collapse. he wasn't about to go without a last word, though. " feeling's mutual[/b]," he hushed, before falling to darkness. when he woke, he woke to the sounds of quiet chatter. he blinked once, then three more times, before taking a deep breath and sitting up, hands clenching to fists as lights flashed before his eyes. his head was starting to throb, and a headache was on its way to invade his mind, but he wasn't about to be in servitude of it. regardless of the fact that every inch of him was on fire, he wasn't about to spend one more precious second being captive in a place that clearly did not like to contain him either. it was fortunate that his bed was covered from possible outside spectators, or it would have been quite hard for him to dress into the clothes that remus had so kindly hidden underneath pillow. the cold chill tingled the tip of his fingers, but no matter. the grey skies had painted a mellow atmosphere inside, to indicate to him that morning had come. how fortunate that he would wake to such a cloudless morning on a sunday, for it would then make his long-awaited sleep on his bed much more easier to take over him. he felt exhausted, but he was determined; sneaking a peek behind the sheets to find the place in silence and unoccupied of visitors, he kept his head down as he walked to the doors, and upon arriving at his desired destination, rotated the knob slowly, and slipped away as quietly and quickly as his body would allow him. he just hoped the news of his arrival in the hospital wing hadn't reached those who, undoubtedly, would not let him walk out of the place. The past few weeks had been very difficult for the sixth year. She had confessioned her crush on her best friends ex boyfriend and now they barely spoke to each other. When she entered the common room Molly would just glare at her and Alice would retreat up to her bedroom. Molly had no right to be mad at Alice for her silly crush on Molly's EX boyfriend. They were no longer dating and as far as Alice knew Molly had gotten over him quite some time ago. Now she was questioning if Molly still cared about Frank. Maybe that is why she was so upset by Alice? If only Molly had told her then she would not be always retreating up to her bedroom to avoid the angry glares from her best friend. Being without your best friend was just truely awful and Alice hated every moment of the last few weeks. She had even gone out of her way to avoid Frank Longbottom and pray that her crush ended as quickly as it began. Still every night she laid in her bed looking up at the ceiling with no end to her crush. A defeated Alice would then just lay there and think about his lovely smile and how she would just give anything for Frank to notice her.
But her wishes went unanswered and Alice was still at odds with Molly over this situation. They couldn't just talk about it because they were teenage girls fighting for the affection of a single boy. Besides if they did fight for his affection then Alice knew that she would loose before the battle even started. He always noticed Molly before Alice. The anger boiled over inside of Alice as she sat up and just tossed the blankets back from her body. No one was awake yet since the sun was just barely on the horizon and it was a Sunday morning. Students slept in on Sunday but Alice could not sleep anymore. Not with the image of Frank Longbottom and Molly Prewett together flashing before her eyes everytime she let her eyelids touch. Quickly she stood up from her bedroom and moved towards her trunk where she got out clothing for the morning. A pair of grey sweatpants and a hoodie since it was chilly outside. She just needed to get away and to clear her mind if only for a moment.
Alice slipped out of the common room and continued down the stone staircases of the Castle until she had reached the front doors, which she quietly slipped through. Her feet made contact with the ground and the grass that was wet with thawing frost. The chilly air filled her lungs every time she inhaled and it was almost like an instant wake up call. Finally a smile formed on her lips as she set out on her run. Her feet hit the ground in a constant beat as she followed the path that lead down towards the Quidditch Pitch. It was a long run there and back but Alice needed it. Her mind went blank and for that instant in time she focused on maintaining the motion of her feet as she ran.
By the time that she returned to the castle the sun was getting higher in the sky but disappearing behind grey clouds that filled the sky. It appeared like the weather was officially turning for the winter and that snow would be there soon. But Alice didn't care since she felt so much better after clearing her head. Nothing could bring her down as she stepped back into the Gryffindor Common Room. No one noticed as she entered but she over heard Remus talking to James right when she entered. "Took Frank to the hospital wing this morning... but he should be out soon. When he gets out what did you want to do today?"
The hospital wing... her heart dropped in that moment. She had been so angry at him and at Molly for her stupid crush but that all disappeared when she heard Hospital wing. The guys hadn't noticed her so when she turned around and ran out of the common room they hadn't seen her. Why was she running after a boy that didn't even know she existed? The normally calm and thoughtful Alice had gone out the window to teenage hormones and to make sure that the boy she liked was alright.
The sound of her running down the empty hall could be heard as she approached the hospital wing and once she was there she threw open the doors. All sense of calm and collected had been thrown out the window. Only once she had thrown open the doors in very dramatic flair did Alice realize what she had done. She had run down the hall to make sure that the boy she liked wasn't dying. Instead he was just stand there in a very calm manner walking towards the door.
And in that moment words escaped her. Obviously he would wonder why she was there and Alice would have to explain herself with something other than i love you and wanted to make sure that you were still alive. Her heart was racing since she had just run from the common room but it felt like blood was not making its way up to her brain. So she stood there frozen in the doorway looking over at Frank. The eyes of Frank and all of the other patients in the hospital wing were on her so she finally managed to speak. "What are you doing? You should be in that bed and getting better from whatever illness you have. Now get back to bed!" Alice had no authority over Frank so she didn't even know why she gave him the order to go back to bed. Her cheeks grew pink as she grew embarassed by her own actions.

[style=font-family:times; font-style:italic; line-height:20px; font-size:50; color:white; text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #444;]my heart IS FILLED WITH YOU those eyes.. her eyes. holding so much power over him that an instant glance was an automatic paralysis for him, capturing his every attention, his entire mind. sapphires like molly's, but too different in essence and radiation; they were the colour of calm and finesse, of solace and warm affinity. they brimmed with quiet exuberance, gleaming with blithe beauty.
and they were.. also turning angry.
it was lucky that he'd caught himself just in time, or it would have been a disaster if he'd let out a laugh during their frozen moment. admittedly, his heart had plummeted to the floor when the doors had suddenly flung open, but immediately went back to within the barricade of his rib cage and started beating fast as his eyes had fallen on the whirl of gold and the face of a very worried angel, looking straight at him, holding him where he stood. perhaps she'd suddenly become lost of words, or merely was in the mood of just flinging doors open during a sunday morning, but really, he couldn't have cared less if she were here to see someone else. just the mere sight of her was enough to siphon the exhaustion out of his system and inject pure bliss in him, after all. he was just about to smile too, when she suddenly erupted at him, indirectly scolding him for his irresponsibleness and his carefree attitude towards the state of his physical health. the way her voice sounded was so strangely attractive, and scary at the same time, that he thought himself mad, and possibly verging on lunacy, for ever pairing those two words in the same compliment.
perhaps it was just him, or maybe he just wasn't around when the opportunity brought itself out, but it was quite hard to imprint the idea of alice losing her temper and making a tantrum, until she stopped her tongue from letting anything else loose. the familiar scarlet painted over her fair cheeks, truly a remarkable sight to behold after an outburst of what he supposed, was only a part of what she wanted to say to him. her thundering footsteps were not even considered in this theory, because he rather doubted that remus would have told of his dramatic collapse in the same graphic manner; in any case, maybe she just felt like shouting at him today.
he had a feeling he deserved to be, anyhow.
"unless you'd care to join me, may i politely decline from your request? [/b]" he asked, grinning from ear to ear as he continued on his tracks, hastily; upon approaching her proximity, he held on both her shoulders gently, and placed a quick kiss on the top of her head before scooping her up from the waist and placing her on to his shoulder, all acted upon in a manner so swift, that even he himself couldn't believe how chirpy he suddenly became. " good timing, i was about to go for breakfast, too[/b]," he continued, an outright amused laugh in his voice, he patting her back, without so much as a struggle maintaining balance. he had a habit of sweeping girls off their feet, anyways, in a manner and frequency that questioned what kind of guy he really was and what his relationships were with those girls. personally, he thought people would be and should be more concerned about how much strength he placed in himself to carry such damsels. however, seeing as it was effortless, he supposed they were best on their mind-set. if only he could carry her without arousing such suspicions and possibly making her feel at a loss as to how much attention would be placed upon her, he would. every time the opportunity would present itself, he would. but perhaps the deprivation caused his want to be contained, because having her so close like this, holding her, it was like an automatic switch had turned on to make it a point that she was his, and that he would never let go. he hastened his steps, and sprinted as he rounded the corner, stopping at the wide and open doors of the great hall. the atmosphere of sullen serenity and quiet chatter blanketed over his system immediately, just enough to make him paused and smile. letting her down on her feet, he quickly slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him, making an easier access to her ear as he leaned in and whispered, " maybe you can persuade me to go back there, but right now, i just really want to be with you.[/b]" pausing as he leaned back, he smiled his disarming smile, and indicated towards the hall with his head. " you're the only remedy i need, really. now come. i'll let you feed me?[/b]"[/div][/style][/style] THANKS![/center]

That smile. The way it light up his face and made Alice blush further. It was as if he knew her little secret about him without every speaking to her about it. The way that a man undresses a women with his eyes... well Frank could do give her that same feeling with just the upward turn of his lips into that infamous grin. Oh she loved it so and it made her heart skip a beat every time she looked across the way and saw it lighting up his face. How could she stay mad at him when all he had to do was show her that grin? Oh but she wanted to be upset with him so badly since he was obviously sneaking out of the hospital wing when he was sick. Alice had half a mind to try and force him back to bed but she knew that he was much larger than she. In comparison Alice was probably a foot shorter than Frank and much lighter. But when she finished with her tanturm about his health all Frank could do was just grin at her and speak to her in the calmest of manners.
Over reacting was not in her ususal nature but every once in a while when the situation was right Alice could freak out. Finals were a great example of that since she would take so many classes and have so much to prepare for during finals. Last year she nearly chewed off James' head because he wasn't taking the project they were working on seriously enough. But with Frank it felt different. She felt like loosing her temper and throwing a tanturm like this often since she just wanted him to notice her. All she wanted was what she was about to get.
He spoke to her and then he grinned again as the distance between them closed. The gap that had separated them was gone within a few steps of his feet and there he was. Right up close to Alice. But she was still stunned and in shock as how much more handsome he looked when he was right up close to her. It was like one of her perfect dreams coming to life and nothing could shake the moment she was in. His hands made contact with the sweater she was wearing on her shoulders. Then his lips made contact with the top of her head and she was secretly in heaven. A soft giggle escaped her lips but was cut short but the sudden toss. Alice had not expected him to just throw her over his shoulder like that and in her stunned moment she wasn't sure what to do but panic. When she dreamt about being swept off her feet by Frank Longbottom she did not have this in mind. "PUT ME DOWN!" She yelled as he made his way into the hallway but her crys went unnoticed by her fellow students and the professors who walked by.
Now she only screamed out that once and after gaining her balance in the position that she was stuck in she calmed down. An occasional whimper as they made thier way down to the dinning hall. By the time they got there Alice just wanted to be comfortable and on the ground without the eyes of anyone else. Everyone seemed to be looking at Frank and Alice. Truely she wanted to curl up in privacy so she wished that she had just offered to go to his hospital bed and sit there with him until he was pronounced healthy.
But once she was on the ground the physical contact did not stop. His arm slipped around her waist and Alice secretly leaned in closer as he whispered to her. This sort of attention was the kind that she longed for. A secret whisper and a kiss on a location that was more than the top of her head. "And what if I am back in the hospital wing in your bed? Would you go back there then?" She asked. Alice was very innocent but she knew how to flirt so she made sure to use a nice flirty voice when she possed the question.
Then he suggested breakfast and she smiled. "Alright... but I am feeding you oatmeal and orange juice since that is a healthy breakfast. Why were you even in the hospital anyways?" She asked as they entered the Great Hall and moved towards the end of the Gryffindor table. She was curious about his mysterious illness. Alice took a seat and waited for Frank to select his. While waiting she played with her hair and smoothed it out since it had gotten messy while she was running that morning.
