[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] THERE IS NO CRIME IN BEING KIND The Words: 444 The Outfit: goes here The Notes ina rush, so it is therefore rushed, my bad setting: hogwarts ground, andromeda's third year. Today had been a complete and utter waste of time. Andromeda has just left the Quidditch pitch and was now slowly making her way back to the Slytherin Common Room. The walk was long so she had plenty of time to reflect on the event that had just taken place: the try-outs for the Slytherin Quidditch team. Andromeda was a decent Quidditch player, and while this was her own personal opinion it was also very true. Ever since she was a child she had always loved flying, whether it was stolen rides on Sirius' broom as kids or just simply watching a Quidditch match, she loved everything about. The whip of the wind on her face, the smell of the wood from the broom handle, everything. But all of this just made her feel even more dejected than she already did. Since her mother was completely against girls flying brooms, she had always had to practice in secret, which wasn't really a bad thing, but it did give her an awful case of nerves whilst flying in front of other. After all, it had taken her up until her third year to even try for the team. At first she had thought that she was doing alright. The current Captain was putting them through their drills and they were flying in circles and through obstacles and the like, and Andromeda was doing well, in fact she was the best girl there, and the only one. After much more flying and Quaffle passing, Bludger beating and Snitch seeking, Andromeda was asked to land as they gave out their criticisms. Which were harsh. Most of the boys trying out got compliments, well more like non-compliments and not as many criticisms as the others, but Andromeda's critique was cruel. The whole team stopped and sneered at her skills, calling her stupid and other horrible things that she tried in vain to push from her head. As a Black, however, she managed to keep her face plain and her tears held back, she wouldn't let them know just how much their comments hurt. Not long after she had left their company she couldn't keep the tears in, she began to well up and then had to run over to the nearest tree to keep herself away from others. She had thought that she had done alright, evidently not. Little did she know that she had done alright, but the boys on the team were rather sexist in their choosing strategies, unfortunately for Andromeda. She kept her back straight against the bark of the tree as she wept in silence, unaware of the man coming up behind her. |
