molly was nervous. she was never nervous, was she? she had no reason to be nervous, and that was making her even more nervous. why was she so nervous? all she was doing was meeting up with sirius. sirius was her good friend. he was a year younger than her and always getting into trouble, which boggled molly's mind completely. he was always finding himself in the hospital wing for some reason or another, but for some reason girls seemed to be flocking all over him, even in light of his stupidity. molly had always thought she had been above those silly girls who threw themselves at sirius and whom sirius gladly took, enjoying every second of the attention. but lately, molly found herself oddly attracted to the gryffindor. he was attractive after all, she reasoned with herself. therefore it was no reason to get upset over something obvious. and he did flirt with her, and every other girl, molly reminded herself. but he made her feel so special. molly wanted to hit herself upside the head. he probably made every single girl he was with feel like they were the most special girl in the world. she couldn't believe she was falling for the house flirt.
this wasn't molly. molly was reasonable and thought out. she was innocent and sweet. she didn't get giddy over some boy. but this wasn't just some boy, this was sirius black. molly flopped down onto the grass near the lake. she laid down, placing her hands over her face. she couldn't believe herself. if he brothers ever found out about this she would never live it down. thank goodness she was the only one privileged to her thoughts, if not she thought she might die of embarrassment.
she didn't know why she was freaking about meeting with sirius alone either. all they had decided was that they were going to get together and molly was going to help him with his charms homework. she had already been through sixth year charms and found her way easily through the homework sirius and his colleagues were battling. they had decided because it was a beautiful saturday to meet out by the lake and study there. molly enjoyed being outside and the lake at this time of the year was beautiful. but molly didn't really consider the fact that they'd be alone and so secluded from the rest of the school. that was, until now. and now it was giving her butterflies in her stomach.
she wanted to scream because of how stupid she was being, but the truth was, she hadn't really crushed on a guy in a while, and this wasn't some guy, it was sirius. and she knew that she did not have a chance with sirius black. or, well, she had a chance to bed him if she wanted, but nothing else, and that really wasn't molly. she was still a virgin, and wasn't interested in just throwing something so special away on a one night stand or fling. she wanted to be in love and have that person love them in return.
she rolled over and pulled at her backpack, pulling it open and taking out her textbooks. she was going to focus on studying and studying only. this wasn't a date or anything of the sort. this was two friends studying. one friend helping another friend out. that was all. she took a deep breath and exhaled. she was going to be fine, this was going to be fine. she was just being ridiculous. this was sirius, her friend.

WATCH MY CHEST HEAVE AS THIS LAST BREATH LEAVES MEI A M T R Y I N G T O B E WHAT YOU'RE DYING TO SEE
Sirius’ unfinished charms essay had been sitting amongst empty bottles of firewhiskey at the bottom of his bag for far too long now. Under any other set of circumstances it would have remained there, been left to crumple and tare... but for Molly Prewett he, made an exception. She was pale skinned and pretty, angelic- attractive. Sirius took any opportunity he could to surround himself with pretty girls. He found the more time he spent with them, the more they wanted him. Never once had he had to ask a girl into bed with him.... they were always the one to drag him into the broom closet in the end. Where sex was concerned, Padfoot was not a picky man. Almost every surface in the school had been defiled by him at some point in fact.
But, for a girl who had seem so adamantly against flirting with him in the beginning, Molly Prewett had certainly warmed to him. She seemed just as doe eyed and star struck in his presence as the others, as much as it might have bothered him to say, he had a feeling she was starting to see him differently. Believe it or not... he actually hadn’t minded having a female friend- someone who he could mindlessly flirt with without receiving a reaction. He’d made her feel special though, just as he had with all those before her. And for women, that was a deal breaker.
If only deal breakers didn’t ruin friendships...
Tossing his bag over his shoulder, Sirius began to make his way towards the lake, a cigarette lazily perched between his pointer and middle finger. Blowing smoke rings as he walked, the boy could not help but sigh. Had he been a better person, he would have turned around right then and there, put a stop to this entire ordeal before it started- but Sirius Black had never been a perfect person. He didn’t want to stand Molly up... and he certainly didn’t want to fail Charms.
The sad truth of the matter was that Sirius needed sex like most people needed their families. Because for those few moments he spent in bed, he felt wanted. For those few moments, nobody cared about his last name, or his past... they just relied on him. They hung off his every movement and relished in how amazing he could make them feel.
But then reality would come crashing back down... and they would leave, or he would leave. They would stop needing him, wanting after him... and Sirius no longer felt wanted. It was a vicious circle that led him to do the things he did. It was the driving force behind his trek to the black lake, his reason for meeting up with Molly. It was the driving force behind everything he did. He just wanted to feel like he belonged somewhere for five freaking minutes! He wanted girls to make googly eyes at him... wanted Gilderoy to make jealous comments and have his housemates cheer for him on the quidditch pitch. He just wanted to be accepted. And though he may never have admitted it aloud... he just wanted someone to call his own- someone who wanted him back. Always.
Subconscious though these thoughts may have been, they were true no less. “Fancy seeing you here Molly” he chuckled, truly unaware of his reasons for being there in the first place. He was just here to write an essay... right?

B U T I D O N ' T K N O W W H E R E T O G O so i think i'll sit and stay here a while ----*
sixth year charms had been a subject in which molly had done well in. it was one class she enjoyed over others, and as she skimmed the book now, she remembered the classes and the lessons she had spent hours laboring over. it was all coming back to her and she continued to skim the words before she was interrupted by a familiar voice and a shadow that blocked out a portion of the sun overhead. she turned her head upwards towards sirius, smiling towards the gryffindor. he was tall, she noted, as he stood above her, though molly herself was quite petite. and he looked handsome as he smiled to her and joked about their study session. she could feel herself falling under his charm and hated it as much as enjoyed being lavished under his eyes. she shook the thoughts out of her head and smiled to her friend.
"how are you sirius? ready for some charms study help?" she asked gesturing towards her book and the seat beside her. this was about helping a friend study for charms and nothing else. she was going to make the best out of it and keep her head in the book. besides, even if molly did had the most remote, slightest crush on sirius there would be nothing she could, or would, for that matter, do about it. sirius wasn't a one woman girl, molly knew that. she knew he fell into bed with so many girls whom he never saw again. she had rolled her eyes, and would roll them again at him as he told her about this girl or that, or as she watched another girl sneak back into her dorm in the morning. molly was not that kind of girl. she was a one man kind of gal. so then why was sirius' charm getting to her?
they had been friends for so long, since his first year and her second when she had found the lot of them getting into trouble. she had scolded them then, and she had scolded them a hundred times in the last six years. she had never really considered sirius as anything other than a friend. a friend who was incredibly attractive, but a friend. he had been with many girls, and she had been with frank. so when did she start to realize that maybe she was hoping he would dote on her like he did so many of the other female students at hogwarts. that was the question that was raking her brain and making her go crazy. how for six years she had been comfortable around sirius, even in an alone setting, and now all of a sudden she was nervous. there was just something about the way he talked to her and the way he moved that made her feel special, important, and she was hitting herself upside the head for acknowledging it. she wasn't stupid. she knew better than to get involved or fall further into this silly school girl crush with sirius.
she flipped through a couple chapters in her old charms book. "alright then, what exactly do you need help studying with? i'm more confident in the charms section versus the spells, but i remember sixth year charms class fairly well. i pay attention in class, unlike someone i know," she teased, her eyes meeting sirius' in a knowing look. molly knew how to be his friend. she knew how to be that annoying, worried, motherly friend who pulled them out of trouble, then gave them heck for getting into trouble in the first place. but that was all she knew with sirius. and that was all he knew her as. if molly was perchance hoping for sirius to see her in another way, she doubted he even could.
she turned her attention back to the book in her hands and grabbed a piece of parchment for her to scribble notes on. "let's get to this," she spoke, her voice a lot more in control than her insides felt, "when we get through with this, i have my own assignments to get to and finished."

WATCH MY CHEST HEAVE AS THIS LAST BREATH LEAVES MEI A M T R Y I N G T O B E WHAT YOU'RE DYING TO SEE
Sirius had never been one to make study dates without an ulterior motive. Sometimes, he really did need help in one of his subjects... but other times, he really had no intentions of studying whatsoever. Today’s ‘date’ with Miss Prewett seemed an odd mix of the two, an in between scenario that left him asking questions like ‘would it ruin our friendship’ and ‘... are you sure she really likes you?’. Molly was different to the others after all, she had been his friend for almost his entire schooling life. He had been but an ickle first year when she had taken him beneath her wing. She had mothered him and nurtured him, played the part of a friend, healer, councilor even. Molly had been there through it all, and yet here he was making googly eyes with her beside the lake. What in the hell was wrong with him?
To be honest, Sirius wasn’t entirely sure how Molly saw him anymore. Some part of him hoped the red head still saw him platonically, that the entire fiasco had been but a figment of his imagination. Another, slightly more logical part however, read the signs loud and clear – and being a male, this particular part of him wanted to jump her bones right then and there. Not that Molly was the type of girl who would let him do that... but still.
”We have to write an essay on defensive charms and their uses outside of combat.” he explained offhandedly, smiling slightly as he took a seat beside her. By this point, his mind was working at a hundred miles a minute, disguised only by his well-timed dive for his school bag. A flirty smile was lost beneath text books and broken quills, the boy having somehow calmed himself before resurfacing. Flicking the hair from his eyes, he pulled out a parchment full of notes, handing it lazily to the girl before him. ”You know... like wards and stuff?” he asked, raising his eyebrow at her in questioning.
Smiling again, he rested back against his hand, waiting patiently as his tutor skimmed over his notes. Sirius could not help but stare though, his focus not once wandering from the back of the girl’s head. It was not as if the scenery had changed any since yesterday... or even since his early morning run for that matter. The Black Lake was still the Black lake, and the sky was still the sky. There was really nothing all that special about it. Where else was he expected to look but the back of her head?
Scooting a little closer to Molly when the opportunity presented itself, Sirius leant across the girl to swat a bug from her leg. It was a perfectly gentlemanly move really, with only a subtle flirty undertone. It could have just as easily been a friendly gesture he supposed... after all, no friend wanted to see their friend bitten by an insect. Unless they happened to be a Slytherin that is, in which case, Sirius suspected it was more of a ‘free for all’ type situation. There were no friendships made in the snake house... only mutually beneficial acquaintanceships. And by the looks of things, physical contact was kept to a bare minimum. It was the perfect cover. “T’was a Bug..” He explained offhandedly, not really wanting to come off so forward.
Leaning back again, he smiled at the girl once more, shooting her his world famous grin. ”but... do you think you can help me?” he questioned, turning her attention back to the charms essay within her grip. ”Because if you can’t... I could always just go see if Moony’s free” tagging Molly <3 words that many lyrics Paradise Lost by Hollywood Undead notes there we are m'dear xD credits this was made by brooke !

B U T I D O N ' T K N O W W H E R E T O G O so i think i'll sit and stay here a while ----*
this was weird. molly knew that any other study date she had ever been on was nothing more than a study date. but today was different and she suddenly found herself more awkward around sirius than she usually was. she tried her best to focus on what their task was for the day, and that was to help him write an essay on wards and charming spells. that would be what would get her through the time they spent together. but as she looked over to the boy who sat down next to her on the ground, she couldn't help but scan his face, remarking how handsome he looked with his hair blowing in the wind. and how his eyes seemed to land on her as if she were the most important girl in the world. of course, that wasn't true. it was the way he looked at every other girl and why they fell for him. but as molly skimmed his face, she couldn't help the thought of kissing him from crossing her mind. again, she internally shook off that fact. molly was a relationship type of girl, not a one night stand lady. and that was where sirius and molly differed.
she listened to him as he spoke about class and laugh slightly, knowing that he probably had no idea what they had been doing in class over the past several weeks. it didn't surprise her, in fact it only added to his appeal. "well what were you thinking for a defense spell? something like a summoning spell that is useful in day to day life if need be? or there's the impervius charm that can be helpful. tell me what you think and we'll go from there." molly was here to help, she wasn't here to do his essay for him, but she didn't mind giving them a place to start from and add onto, or completely change topics. who knew, maybe sirius already had an idea on what he wanted to write about and just wanted more information on that topic from molly, or perhaps he needed molly to look over his style of writing. she really didn't know, nor did she particularly care what it was. she liked helping her friends, and liked seeing them succeed in whatever they set their minds too.
molly turned back to her notebook, flipping through some pages while she waited for sirius to give her an answer to what he precisely wanted to write about. in a few moments she felt his presence closer to her and she inhaled quietly, her heart picking up speed in her chest. he leaned over and swatted a bug that had landed on her leg. she turned her head quickly, unsure how to take the gesture that was nothing apart from a friendly one and nodded to sirius. "thanks, but next time warn me first." that way, if he was to do it again, she would be able to keep her heart in check with him being so physically close to her. she let out a small laugh at how ridiculous the bug thing was and him hitting her and turned to her book once more, skimming the pages. the idea of being so close to him made her knees weak. she had never been that physical with sirius. he had all the other girls in the school to do that with. but as she sat beside him now, she wondered what it was like to lay on his chest, or to feel his lips against hers.
he spoke about offering to go to moony, or as molly called him, remus to help but molly shook her head in response. "no, it's alright. i didn't mean that i didn't want to help you. i want you to stay. i want you to stay and get homework help from me," she quickly spewed out. her nerves were getting the best of her and she let out a breath of air at the end of the sentence. she didn't want him to leave, but she hoped she wasn't making things awkward here, because boy oh boy did she feel awkward. "i mean... you can go and get help from remus if you want, i don't want to make you stay here with me." okay, now she felt pathetic. he has asked her for the help and she had agreed. now she felt stupid and wished the last couple of minutes could just rewind. hopefully she didn't sound as stupid as she felt inside. hopefully sirius wouldn't think she had been hit in the head before their session.

WATCH MY CHEST HEAVE AS THIS LAST BREATH LEAVES MEI A M T R Y I N G T O B E WHAT YOU'RE DYING TO SEE
In response to Molly’s question, Sirius simply shrugged. In all honesty, he had not given much thought towards the assignment at all; he’d had far more important matters to attend to. Pranks didn’t pull themselves after all, neither did girls fall at his feet without cause. School came second to his social life, second to quidditch and girls. Sirius Black had far more important things to deal with after all; he simply didn’t have time for charms. It was not as if he was failing his classes anyhow, more so, he was breezing through them. Magic was something that came naturally to him; he need not spend the time and effort perfecting it. So long as there was a hand;s on element to a class, Sirius was more than capable of passing it. Needless to say he excelled in subjects such as Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Unfortunately for the boy however, his Transfiguration teacher happened to be his head of house... and knew too well of his academic potential. Given the right set of circumstances, and a certain amount of hard work, Sirius Black was perfectly capable of receiving perfect grades. It seemed a long bloodline of magic had worked in his favor- as much as he might have been quick to deny it. ”I dunno... summoning charms sound cool I suppose” He began nonchalantly, not really sure how to continue. ”I mean... you should see some of the things James and I use them for” he sniggered, thinking back to the time when they had swapped the entirety of the Hufflepuff and Slytherin common rooms around. It had been a sleepless night, but completely worth it. The look on his younger brother’s face had been priceless... and his cousins had near blown their tops. That morning had been one of the best of his life. The Hufflepuff;s had found the entire ordeal rather humorous after all, with the banter across the great hall having reached an all-time high. Leaning across Molly then, Sirius moved to swat a bug from her leg. Smiling rather smugly up at her, he could not help but snigger. ”Why, worried I’m going to make a move?” he questioned, raising his eyebrow at the girl. The opportunity had been far too great to surpass after all, the girl’s expression far too priceless. In a rather odd change of circumstances, Sirius removed the bug from Molly’s leg, digging a small hole for the insect with a stick. ”He lived a good life” the boy muttered solemnly, trying his hardest not to laugh. This was not the first time he had hosted an insect funeral after all, neither would it be the last. ”Poor old guy was the victim of a poor set of circumstances” Looking up at Molly as she droned on about homework, Sirius could not help but smirk. She was smitten after all, there was no denying it. ”Molly darlin’, it’s fine, I’ll focus” He sniggered, flicking the hair out of his eyes. ”Remus gets far too much pleasure out of my asking him for help anyhow... I’d rather be here with you” He continued, smiling. He did rather enjoy Molly’s company after all. She was interesting enough to hold his attention in any case- which was more than he could say for most people. Even those clad in red and gold had a habit of boring Sirius half to death. He enjoyed the company of spontaneous individuals. Most of his comrades simply clung to him in the hope of gaining a little popularity by association- nobody really wanted to hand around someone as hotheaded as him. Or at least Sirius didn’t suspect they did. Laying back against the bank, he stared up at the sky, quite obviously prolonging study. ”So...Summoning spells” He pondered aloud, looking over towards Molly. ”What does the ever wise seventh year have to say about summoning charms?” In all honesty, the disowned Black heir hoped for nothing more than a change in subject. They weren’t really going to study were they? YUCK! Who were they kidding?
