If not but a simple man, it's safe to say that Dan is rather rough around the edges. Refined only in his purpose, his words can often come across harshly when confronted by a situation he cares little for. It is obvious at first glance that Daniel is stubborn by nature. And equally opinionated at best, but Dan is not typically a mean-spirited man. He is sociable in that he carries himself well with people. He has plenty of friends to account for and remains on good terms with a number of acquaintances. And though he has been known to come across as exceptionally proud, he is not nearly so arrogant as he appears. He takes pleasure in the smaller things in life, and lives rather independently while remaining in good ties to his family. From his job, to his social life, to his pets and even to his ability to weave his way in and out of both the wizarding and muggle communities he is both grateful and proud of what he has and isn't afraid to show it in his walk, or his speech patterns.
His general approach is honest with the affection for sarcasm and humour, this coming through most often while he is working, whether he be dealing with customers or discussing stock and inventory with product manufacturers or just hanging out with friends. With a further take of being candid, he's not afraid to be genuine in his expressions and makes no effort to smother feelings of disdain should they ever arise.
With the skills of a leader and the ambition, equal in determination to uphold his pride, he works hard at his job and does well to attain a respectful status amongst his peers and most yet, the respect from his parents. It is perhaps in this that his Hufflepuff nature is apparent. If not by his ability to be hard-working in his given environment and his aptitude for dedication to what is important to him. In terms of his temperament, Dan is fairly simple to take. He does not get angry very often and is known to deflect the anger of others with a humourous tone – or in the case of work, a professional attitude. Some could argue that most insults wash off of him, as he can easily take things in stride. Coined with his self-assured pace, the words of others are not quite strong enough to knock him down any. In short, Dan treats people as he feels he should and walks at his own pace, more or less, ever ready to take on the world as he sees it.

behind the m a n
Things started out pretty roughly for the Cadwallader family. Before Dan was born, his mother; Cateline Dupont was a struggling Quidditch enthuist residing in Wales while his father; Ray Cadwallader, was Quidditch player for the Caerphilly Catapults. In the course of their careers they met and fell in love. However neither families were very supportive of their apparently fast-paced relationship right off. And it was not long before Cateline got pregnant receiving more criticism from both families due to the pregnancy being out of wedlock. As a result, their families ushered them into marriage prior to the birth of their first born. Following the birth of their son, Daniel Fletchy Cadwallader, Cateline opted to work from home - still struggling in her career path despite having attained a job writing articles for a small time quidditch magazine and Ray continued his busy schedule as a Quidditch beater.
For several years they lived under strain of this, but managed well enough, Dan eventually becoming old enough to take to his fathers games and growing equally fond of the sport himself. By the time he was five, his grandmother - a muggle, had began pressuring his mother to put him through muggle elementary so as not to completely be estranged from that portion of his family. So, rather than Charm School, Dan attended a muggle elementary in the muggle community a town over from their small wizarding abode. At the same time, he was also pressed to learn to communicate in french, also under the encouragement of Cateline's family - though it was never polished to perfection, his mother pregnant once more with another child. Dan, being distracted with school didn't so much mind this however and accepted the newborn baby sister into the family without qualms. In fact, he actually found himself quite fond of her, even as a child. Shortly following this, Cateline landed a job working for Which Broomstick?, still permitted to work from home the meantime as she was once again pregnant with a second girl.
Despite the age difference, Dan loved having younger female siblings, not at all feeling depraved of attention, ever the independent child. Occasioncally he wished his father was around more, but idolized him all the same as a Quidditch player, always attending games with his mother if he could. Things began to change in the following years however, upon receiving his letter to Hogwarts. Excited, though expecting it, he went off to school and was quickly sorted into Hufflepuff. For the first while it was good, and as classes started getting serious he had an easy time getting into it. Tough Quidditch grew to be a weighing distraction, along with friends and the typical school-boy drama that came with. Still, Dan eased through his school-life, going home for the holidays only to see his sisters age way too fast in his opinion - to which he still showered with brotherly affection.
During the span of his second year, his father retired from his Quidditch Uniform and took to the announcing side of things, working as a Quidditch representative as well. Though sad to see his father's career shift from the field, Dan and his father remained in good spirit over it.
Eventually as he grew older his interests starting forming properly. He loved getting into wand-work, hated written work, loved quidditch and pissing off teachers. Had tons of friends, a few enemies, and as he got older and into the girls, there were plenty of those too. By the time he was in his fourth year he managed to make the Quidditch team as a Beater, following in suit of his father. Growing into his later years, he eventually made Quidditch Captain, gaining a sense of responsibility for his teammates and himself, in-class an on the pitch. He worked hard in both aspects of his life, handling a social life and a family life in the mean-time. He struggled along the way and often relied on the help of others until he could manage it himself - though he still took to being somewhat rebellious every once and awhile, like any typical teenager. Drama sought him out with girls and mates and professors and fellow classmates, rival housemates and the like, but he faired all the same - growing and learning.
Following his sixth year, during the summer holidays, he managed to snag a job at Eeylops Owl Emporium to keep his need to be independent, if not self-sufficient, going. Ideally, he'd taken the job in order save up for a new broomstick but he ended up gaining a lot of respect from his parents for it because he'd taken the initiative. He didn't particularly mind working where I did, either. No doubt, a messy job, but worth it in the end.
It was only what seemed like a short time after that he graduated from Hogwarts, quickly being drafted into playing Quidditch as a Beater for the Falmouth Falcons. This only lasted about two years however - getting into an accident that rendered his batting arm useless for well over a year. In that year, due to the fact that he couldn't take on any matches, he began working at Quality Quidditch Supplies to stay close to the sport, finding a growing love in his work there. A year, as a result - passed by quickly and by the time his arm had healed, he'd fallen in love with is job. Rejecting the invitation to return and taking up a new life as the Assistant Manager at Quality Quidditch Supplies. The money from this, along with the money left over from his short-lived Quidditch career bought him an apartment in the heart of muggle London, along with two pups to keep him company.
It was not two years later, that he obtained the Manager position at Quality Quidditch Supplies at the healthy age of twenty-three. And every bit the independent man he aspired to be.
