And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was always a bustling place, how could it not be? Any place that had an impossibly large group of adolescents living together was almost guaranteed to be bedlam. And even more so when it was the weekend, free from the stresses of school for at least one daybecause everyone did homework that was due on Monday, the night before he young witches and wizards of Hogwarts tended to lose their minds. And one such witch, Mackenzie Alexandra Kirke, was more than happy to have participated in such madness during her time here at school.
Today was one of the days when the students in the third year and above would be allowed to visit Hogsmeade Village. Kenzie loved getting out of the castle and wandering through the stores on High Street, and even wandering into the seedier parts of the village where it wasn't advised that you go. But then again, advisories were only cautionary, right? It wasn't like it was expressly forbidden. And even if it was, it wouldnt have made much difference in the Gryffindor witch's mind. The Hog's Head was just such a place, tucked away from the usual hustle and bustle of High Street. It was completely unlike The Three Broomsticks which was usually filled to bursting with the student population of Hogwarts...but it seemed like a great spot to meet with Ellen, who clearly wanted to speak to Kenzie about something important. Something that needed discretion and paradoxically...discretion was something that could be achieved at this particular pub, which seemed deserted saved for the ancient barkeep.
Mackenzie knew just how much Ellen wanted to speak to her, but for some reason their schedules had kept them apart for the past couple of weeks given Ellen's Head Girl duties and Kenzie's Quiddich practice schedule. Since it was James' last year as Capitain he wanted to leave the school and the team with the best results possible. Which meant that pretty much ever since the school started all Kenzie did when she wasn't sleeping, eating, sitting in class or trying to keep tabs on her siblings was flying around the Quidditch pitch and trying to improve her Seeking abilities. It also meant that she saw Ellen maybe a handful of times...even though they shared a dorm.
All of that and the fact that there was something just plain off about her best friend has led to schedule this meeting with Ellen and hope that whatever was going on with the other girl...talking to Kenzie would be enough to help.
