----------------------------- What was she doing Lily wasn’t sure. She had never really thought about going into the Forbidden Forest at night. She switched shifts, as it was the norms with the perfects and the Head Boy and Girl. She smiled lightly at Remus before telling him what he needed to know. She then went back to the Gryffindor Tower and grabbed her cloak. The weather was turning slightly colder. Soon Lily would have to bring out the heavy cloaks and robes. She could feel it in the air as she walked out into the castle lawns. A sigh escaped from her lips as she glanced up at the sky. The moon and the stars seemed to be shining brightly. There was not a single cloud as far as she could see. Perfect, Lily thought to herself with a soft smile. It was a perfect night to be out. She swung the cloak around and pulled it tightly against her. She really wasn’t one enough for the cold. Lily was more of a summer and spring person. The warm sunshine and the thunderstorms. Oh, she loved thunderstorms. She just loved to be outside during one. Her sister thought that she was nuts. The corners of her lips twitched downwards into a small frown at the mention of Petunia. The two sisters were extremely close when they were little. She didn’t care whether Lily did odd things or not.
Sometimes the sixteen year old wondered what would have happened if she had not fully developed into her magic. And if Petunia wasn’t so….jealous of her. The good thing was that she had moved out and went to pursue a career in London. Good for her, she thought as she crossed into the forbidden forest. Lily only wanted the best for her sister, even though they weren’t necessarily on the best terms. Letters were hidden in a box that was underneath her bed. Letters that were addressed to Petunia that Lily didn’t have the heart to deliver. She would only imagine what her eldest sister would do to those. Either tore them up or probably burn them. Oh Tuney, the red haired girl thought to herself, using the childhood nickname for her. I wish you weren’t so bitter on the fact that I’m a witch. I wish you would just put your bitterness aside and just get on with mending our relationship. Before the war started. At the mere mention of the war Lily felt a small chill going down her spine. That was why she was eager to patch things up with Petunia. Her whole family was targeted because of her status as a muggleborn in the wizarding world. The one thing that most purebloods loathed because they didn’t feel like she was worthy enough to hold a wand or learn magic.
Besides, if it wasn’t for Severus, Lily would have only found out about the magic on her eleventh birthday. Her emerald green eyes glittered with worry as she continued walking deeper and deeper into the forest. She didn’t pay that much attention to her surroundings. That was why she jumped a few inches into the air as she heard the sounds of footsteps and the rustling of leaves. She ran a hand through her hair as she quickly pulled out her wand. She raised her arm and braced herself. She knew it was stupid enough to go into the forest alone. She should have asked James if he wanted to come. A grin lit her face. Her eyes started to twinkle despite her nerves. “Whose there!” She called out. “Show yourself!” Tagged. Rodolphus! Words. 600 Notes. Let the encounter begin! Credits. the tables about to turn and your gonna get what you deserve`I GOT REAL BIG PLANS AND SUCH BAD THOUGHTS In all honesty, Rod didn’t tend to spend an awful lot of time outside. He had no reason generally to leave the confines of the castle. He didn’t often leave the dungeons but to eat and for lessons. He preferred the cold and the dark, sheltered away from the outside world. Tonight however, he had reason to be outside; his current dwelling the forbidden forest. He’d been into Hogsmeade for a couple of drinks, not alcoholic ones - tonight he had decided to play the innocent student card in an attempt to find himself a girl to fall on top of. Besides, he had learned his lesson about mixing alcohol and women after his recent shameful jaunt with Ellen Leyden who thankfully he hadn’t run into since. For now at least, he was deciding to stay away from the intoxicating stuff. His self restraint probably wouldn’t last however.
His plan though, as was usual, had worked and the young woman, not long out of Hogwarts herself had suggested the idea of the Forest. It had been something of a fantasy of hers apparently and well, Rod had been all too willing to make it come true. She knew a place she said, not too far into the trees but sheltered and comfortable enough. She’d long since disappeared now; her shift at work about to start or something, he hadn’t really been paying attention but he had taken down her address, promising her with a handsome, chivalrous smile that he would write to her soon; that they should ‘do this again sometime.’ With a roll of his eyes, Rod stood up, brushing dirt from his robes as he did so. He pulled out the piece of parchment and ripped the paper in two, letting the halves flutter to the floor. He’d never see her again in his life. He stretched, allowing himself a satisfied groan as he decided he’d make his way back to the castle; he’d had his fill of the great outdoors.
Feeling very triumphant was Rod as he moved carefully through the undergrowth, decimating everything in his way with his wand. He didn’t fear the forest, at least not when he was still on the path. He knew enough about the dark arts to feel confident about coming up against any creature that was possible this near to the path. Therefore he didn’t particularly care about making a racket. He didn’t expect to come across anything or anyone. He was wrong. A voice caught his attention and he stopped, peering through the trees towards the sound. His night vision was rather good since he was a rather nocturnal creature and he’d spent the last hour outside within these trees. He recognised the girl’s read hair instantly. Lily Evans, no doubt on her prefect rounds or maybe she was feeling particularly Gryffindor tonight and decided a walk in the Forest would exercise her reckless side?
He smirked, knowing full well that Miss. Evans would regret asking him to reveal himself but he did as was asked of him. She was of course a prefect after all. Besides, bumping into Lily Evans in the Forbidden Forest could only work in the Slytherin’s favour. He appeared slowly, holding his hands up in an act of innocence which was of course in mocking. He stopped a metre or so away from her, his eyes glinting in the darkness. ”Well, well Evans. Fancy seeing you here.” Slowly he lowered his arms, shoving his hands into his pockets, his right still grasping his wand, glancing around the vicinity. ”All alone.” His words held threat and warning, his eyes flashing again. ”So what are you going to do with me?” Rod smirked, his words implying something else entirely. ----------------------------- Her ears perked up again as she heard a familiar voice. Her stomach sank as she raised her wand but didn’t cast a spell. There was plenty of moonlight still for her to make out the figure. Of all the people she could run into it had to be him. “Lestrange. I could say the same thing about you.” Her voice was smooth as she quirked an eyebrow at his raised hands. Rodolphus was hardly ever innocent. The past few times that they had crossed paths was nothing more than a snide remark or a hex. Him of all people should know not to mess with her. Her emerald green eyes flashed at his next word. A flash of fear and anger went through her eyes. Her nerves were tingling. “Perfect rounds are over for me at least. The Head Boy and Girl are taking over. So you might want to re-think what you’re thinking and just walk back up to the castle.” She tried to appear strong and confident but on the inside Lily was nervous. She eyed his robe pockets as she gripped her own wand tightly.
A few strands of her hair managed to get in her eyes. She pushed them aside impatiently as she continued to look at Rodolphus. She was feeling dread creeping up in her stomach all of a sudden. The red haired girl watched him wearily. “So whose body did you burry here Lestrange? Whose poor soul did you torture tonight if you’re in the forest alone?” Really, an encounter with a few Slytherins were enough for Lily. She had to encounter one more. One person that rumors were saying was a complete psycho. Well, she would have to be the judge of that one. She casually leaned up against the tree, appearing very relaxed as she smoothed her face in what she hoped was a blank expression. She paused at his next words, however, and took a moment, choosing her words carefully. Somehow Lily had a feeling that she won’t be walking away unharmed tonight. “Well, first thing I’m doing is making sure your hands are out of your pockets.” It makes me very nervous, she thought but didn’t care make herself say it.
She wasn’t a fool. “The second thing is making you march all the way back to the castle and the last thing is bringing you to either McGonagall or Dumbledore. I hope your track record is clean. Although the latest rumors depicting yourself as a psycho I’m assuming is false?” Lily was babbling again. Her mouth seemed to have a mind of its own. She remembered that following morning after dinner a few weeks ago. Something must have happened because both James and Sirius were unusually wild up. They were actually growling and muttering things under their breath. As if she had a death wish tonight, Lily choose to reveal her thoughts to the Slytherin. “Lestrange, would you please tell me what had Potter and Black all round up a few weeks ago? During breakfast they were throwing rather loathing looks at the Slytherin Table. Black even went up to the Ravenclaw Table to sit down by some girl.” Lily would really not forget that morning. It was a blessing that James wouldn’t talk to her because he was so angry.
The expression on her face was amused, yet serious at the same time. A frown touched her lips as she straightened. People should know that she was perceptive as well. She was very observant about her surroundings at times and it was a good thing. “You didn’t torture some poor Ravenclaw girl earlier did you?” All in honesty she wouldn’t put it past him to do something horrible. Her mind was spinning with thoughts and half of them weren’t necessarily pleasant things to be thinking about. She continued to frown at him. The hand was gripping tightly against her wand as she raised it even higher. “I think we can go to the headmaster and have him question you about that night. And whatever you were doing here tonight don’t you think so Lestrange?” Lily was a perfect. There were times that she had caught troublemakers out of bed and out of hours. That wasn’t something new to the red head. But this time it was different. She was no Head Girl. How on earth was she supposed to make him come along out of his own free will? Tagged. the tables about to turn and your gonna get what you deserve`I GOT REAL BIG PLANS AND SUCH BAD THOUGHTS “I’m not thinking anything.” He said in his innocent voice. If Rodolphus could even get away with having an innocent voice since everyone that ever looked at him assumed he was currently up to no good. He let nothing show on his face but the mention of the Head boy and girl affected him, though not in the way Lily intended it to that was for sure. He wasn’t worried about either one of them turning up and lecturing him. He just didn’t like the mention of the Head Girl, it made him slightly uncomfortable. There was no way anyone was going to find out about that night. Ever. But something went off inside of him at every mention of her and it was very unnerving. He’d have to learn to get used to it. It’d wear off eventually he was sure. Lucky for him, he was good at controlling his emotions. Lily on the other hand, wasn’t.
It was really quite easy to tell that Lily was wary of him. Why wouldn’t she be? But she was making it very noticeable. She was trying to be bold and brave and stand up to him; her words were very courageous but her face, her body language, they gave away that she was scared and Rod fed off of that. ”You’re looking rather scared, Evans.” All of the talking in the world couldn’t hide the fact that she was a Mudblood in the presence of the man who hated them, isolated in the forest . . . really the temptation was overwhelming, the situation was almost perfect. Too perfect actually. There had to be some catch, surely? This didn’t just happen. The ultimate blood purist didn’t just happen to run into the ultimate mudblood inside the Forbidden Forest at night, it was just too good to be true.
He chuckled, a soft appraising sound. “You jump to such risky conclusions; it’s rather unwise of you to accuse me of torturing someone here and killing them even.” He shook his head in disapproval. “And I thought you were the type to not jump to conclusions about people.” Deciding that he would humour her and play along with her little charade for now, Rod removed his hands from his pocket, deliberately slowly, once again making a meal out of the situation and mocking her, but bringing his wand out with them. Who said anything about him playing fair? “Feel free to look around, do your little prefect business and discover that there is no tortured person or buried body. The girl I was with left a short while ago. With a bit of a limp, but in one piece.” He smirked, knowing that she’d have to be incredibly innocent and naive to not understand now what he had actually been up to in the forest.
He raised an eyebrow at her, his expression turning dangerous in a flash. He did not like being told what to do by anyone. And he most certainly didn’t take orders from mudblood scum like her. She was younger than him as well; the nerve of her angered him greatly. “I don’t think we’ll be doing anything of the sort, Evans, do you?” His tone made it very clear he was not to be messed with, not to be disagreed with and if she had any sense whatsoever she would shut up and clear off. As if he would willingly hand himself over to Dumbledore for wandering into the Forbidden Forest after hours. As if he would allow Lily Evans to escort him to the headmaster. Of course she was just doing her job but Rod didn’t care. She’d realise, (and for her own benefit she should realise sooner rather than later) that you don’t order Rodolphus Lestrange around.
His lip curled at the mention of Potter and Black. “How should I know? I don’t particularly pay much attention to blood traitors; they’re not worth my time.” His face was blank and impassive once again but inside he was laughing at the irony of his statement, Hailey’s broken, tortured face floating to the forefront of his mind. Although he did also have to admit that he was rather pissed off at her for threatening him and demanding to know whether he had tortured anyone and also for correctly assuming that he’d had anything to do with the torture of this Ravenclaw girl that Potter and Black were so interested in. This girl could be anyone and those Gryffindor nuisances could be angry for any reason but Rod was pretty damn certain that they knew about his little situation with Hailey and in that case, Lily Evans had just dropped them in it.
All he wanted to do was curse her but he really needed to learn to be the controlled Slytherin he was supposed to be and he figured this was a good place to start. After all, he could be rather good at manipulating people. “I actually think what we are going to do is strike up a little deal.” He took a step forward, casually as if he was a business man trying to wager an offer. Of course any step Rodolphus Lestrange took towards you was never a good sign. “I’m going to let you walk away from this little situation unscathed if you promise to never accuse me of such atrocities ever again because quite honestly Evans, I am offended that you think so low of me.” There was no way in hell he would admit it was him because she would rat him out straight away. Potter and Black it seemed had much more sense and were choosing not to confront him about it. Now he'd find out if Evans had any sense.

----------------------------- Lily couldn’t help but to quirk an eyebrow at him. She folded her arms across her chest, carefully of still keeping her wand out and ready. Just in case he might strike she would be ready. “Don’t play the innocent act with me Rodolphus. I know you are nothing but innocent.” The red haired girl was trying to play the I’m not one bit scared of you act. She knew that it was currently failing. After all, she was alone in the forest with a Slytherin. A muggleborn hater Slytherin and a pureblood elites at that. Oh did she even have the best luck in the world. She had every single point to be weary of someone like him. She knew what he was capable of. Or she thought she knew anyways. Lily would put a bet that the rumors floating around the school were right. That he would torture anyone in a heartbeat. She gripped her wand tightly as she frowned at him. “I honestly have no idea what you are talking about Lestrange.” She drawled, trying to sound confident but on the inside she was shaking. Something was going to do down tonight. Something was going to happen rather she wanted to or not.
She wasn’t about to let him get the upper hand. Oh Merlin no. Lily scowled heavily at his chuckle. She wanted nothing better to do than to hex him. Tie him up and drag him down to the headmaster’s office. The slime ball that he was. “Well let’s see. You’re a Slytherin. Pureblood and a muggleborn hater. I do have the right to jump to conclusions.” Her eyes narrowed ever so lightly at his actions. She stiffened as she raised her wand even higher. “Who said that I even was that type of person to begin with Lestrange?” Lily’s voice was soft, extra soft as his statement had brought about memories. Memories from long ago. His statement had brought her to last year, her fifth year by the lake. It was there that Lily had finally ended her friendship with Severus because of what he had called her. She started to bite down on the inside of her cheek. It was a habit of hers whenever she was thinking. Pulling herself out of her thoughts, she scowled a little. “What did you do? Vanish the body or stuff it in one of the bushes?” She kept her eyes trained on him.
For some reason or another her instincts were nagging at her. She couldn’t quite place it but all of her nerves were on high alert tonight. She quirked an eyebrow at him. “The girl must have been desperate I’m sure to sleep with you.” There was that drawl again. Her eyes never leaving his. “Or maybe because you had forced her into it just like the man that you are Lestrange.” She knew she was probably treading on dangerous grounds. Her emerald green eyes widen slightly before it was replaced by her trademark scowl. “I do not like being threatened Rodolphus Lestrange. The matter of the fact is that you have been caught in the forest after hours. Now, do I have to tie you up and drag you?” The words were out of her mouth before she could stop them. Lily flinched as she continued to eye him wearily, waiting, watching for his reaction to them. His next statement, however, made her scowl heavily. Her moods were swinging in and out tonight. And she could put the entire blame on him. “Blood traitors are worth more than you think. All of you purebloods with your idea about to purge the world of those less than worthy. It makes me sick.”
If anything, it was that statement that showed her naivety. It showed that, while she was most definitely smart, she knew little about the purebloods. “Potter and Black are annoying and Merlin only knows why. They are, unfortunaly, still my housemates….” Her voice trailed off as her mind was screaming at her to shut up. She was probably going to reveal a lot of information to Rodolphus. The whole school, and probably him as well, knew what her exact thoughts were to James and Sirius. Oh Merlin what the heck was wrong with her tonight. She didn’t want to give him an opportunity to exploit her weaknesses. Lily kept her face blank and her thoughts empty, or at least trying to anyways. Her eyes were like cold, emerald stone as she just stared at them. They revealed nothing to what she was thinking about and that in itself was a good thing for the Gryffindor. She took a step back, watching as he took a step forward. Her wand was raised even higher to the point where it was hovering a few inches above her head. She turned cold at his suggestion. Lily stiffened as all the anger came rushing in her. “It sounds like you had gotten something to hide Lestrange. I would never do a silly thing like that. I know how you work. I know it was you who had done it. I am not telling you again. Let’s go.” Her perfect self seemed to have showed up when she least wanted it to. Lily had a feeling that she wasn’t going to walk away without a scratch tonight. “I’m staying right here.” Tagged. Rodolphus! Words. 894 Notes. Lovely Lily is starting to come back! Credits. the tables about to turn and your gonna get what you deserve`I GOT REAL BIG PLANS AND SUCH BAD THOUGHTS He raised his eyebrows in that appraising fashion again. Of course she saw straight through his innocent act, it was clearly an act, he even spoke in a tone of voice laced with irony. He just gave her a wry smile one that illustrated that she might indeed be right to call him up on not being innocent but that didn’t mean he was going to hold his hands up and agree with her. He was wiser than that. He smirked at her, happy in the knowledge that he was right, she was bordering on terrified of him and that he had the upper hand in this situation. There was no point responding, she’d only try and pointlessly argue back and besides the smug look on his face was more than enough.
”Well you seem to spend rather a lot of time with Severus Snape.” He spoke with a curl of his lip; their so called alliance did not sit well with him, even if the boy did show certain Death Eater tendencies. ”And you’re a mudblood.” He added, his look of disgust heightening further. To him, that more than summed up why he thought she would be the type to not jump to conclusions. Lily was keeping her wand raised; if anything she was constantly raising it higher and of the two of them it looked like she would be the one to strike first but Rod knew that that wouldn't be the case. Lily wouldn't hex him unless she was forced to because duelling outside of lessons was against school rules. She was merely keeping her guard up and she was right to, even if Rod only had his wand at waist height, it was out and he didn't need to point it square in her chest to hit her with an unforgivable curse.
He found it rather amusing that she thought him capable of killing someone. She had already made it clear she thought him to be a torturer but to take someone's life that was another matter entirely. That wasn't to say that Rod wasn't capable of it, he already had a list of people he wanted to hunt down as soon as he joined the death eaters and his father was top of the list. Being a mudblood, Lily was on it too though not as high up however if she continued to irritate him in the fashion that she was today then she might just find herself higher up on his priorities. Because mostly, her accusations just made him mad.
He was about to roll his eyes yet again and point out the long list of women that had succumbed to his charm over the years and to ask how many notches were on her bedpost, he imagined not many if any at all. He supposed Lily Evans was the sort of girl that valued her virtue and her purity after all it wasn’t like she didn’t have admirers, Potter was all over her like a rash she could have him if she wanted although Rod couldn’t see why she would. But ultimately he couldn’t imagine someone as stuck-up and straight-laced as she seemed to be ever wanting to be involved in relationships. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it was because he wanted more reasons to dislike her. And so he was going to point that out but her next words cut in first and it was those that made him snap. No longer bothering to act light-hearted, his eyes narrowed, teeth gritting together and his wand grip tightening. ”Be careful, Evans,” He warned her, spitting out his words and flexing his wand arm experimentally, ”You’re suggesting things, jumping to more dangerous conclusions. It might be wise if you shut up or I might be forced to make you.” The threat in his tone was more than evident.
However he could not help but snort derisively at her next words. Really, as if she stood a chance against him! Her show of bravery was quite endearing and the cold look in her eyes was commendable but Rod was fooled by none of it. "Evans, do you really believe if you tried a stunt like that you'd be successful?" he shook his head, answering for her. "I think if you tried that it'd be your body I was burying in these woods." he told her, words warning, the expression on his face clearly saying, 'try me.' He let out a low noise, barely perceptible unless you listened closely but it was a sign that showed he was rapidly losing patience with her. His words were sharp, aimed to hurt. "I wouldn’t expect you to understand, Evans you are just a mudblood after all."
His eyebrows lifted, carefully taking note of her words. "So what are you suggesting, Evans?" Rodolphus asked her, his own suggestion forming in his mind at the mention of Potter and Black. "In order to save their skin from my wrath will you take the rap instead of them?" he cocked his head to one side interested to see how much of a loyal Gryffindor Lily Evans really was. "Because if I have to hurt Potter and Black," the reason for which he would have to do that was unspoken but both of them knew it was because they knew about his torturing of Hailey. "I'll be telling them exactly who it was that dropped them in it," he raised his wand both accusingly and because he was firing himself up to curse her, stepping forwards once more. "You." He smirked at her, once again fully aware that he was in control of this situation. ”I’m going nowhere with you, if you think you can make me you’re delusional. I offered you a way out and I’m now very kindly offering another one now. It’s Potter and Black or you?” WORDS: 976 TAG: the mudblood Lily LYRICS: you me at six - the consequence NOTES: yeah he wants to blackmail her!

----------------------------- The Gryffindor sixth year took a sharp intake of breath at his words. Did he really just go there? She replayed his sentence in her mind. She did not really want to talk about Severus right now. There was still some very painful moments indeed. “Seem is the keyword Lestrange,” Her voice was soft. “If you haven’t noticed yet we have not been speaking to each other. I presume you have heard about the…um…incident last year?” Lily bit down on her lower lip. Just when she wanted to get Severus out of her mind, it seemed people like Rodolphus always brought him up. It was more of an annoyance really. People were always surprised and wondered what she saw in him. She twitched at the word. “Just because I’m a muggleborn witch doesn’t mean a single thing.” Lily retorted. Most people were surprised to learn that the smartest witch in their year was muggleborn. They had thought that surely she must have some magic in her family. She shook her head at herself, sighing softly. She had been going out of her mind lately with everything. And she was still worrying about Severus to!
When am I ever going to stop? She mused to herself silently, frowning at him. “That’s the problem with purebloods such as yourself. Let’s face it, if they hadn’t married muggles the entire wizarding race would be dying or already did.” And of course there was the issue with the inbreeding in some families, she had learned during her numerous studies and research. She made a slight face. Perhaps his family had already succumbed to the idea of inbreeding. It would surely explain his insanity, or so the rumors had it anyways. She kept a tight grip on her wand. Instincts told her not to lower it. Besides, who knows what he would do once she gave him an opening. Her whole body tensed slightly at the thought. She was not going to give him an opportunity to strike. Lily shuddered as a thought crossed her mind. Her imagination was running wild again. She really did need to reset it so that it wouldn’t. “So if someone gave you the opportunity you would torture them. Even more so because they’re not….worthy as some would think.” She really didn’t know where that statement had come out.
She had a feeling that, after tonight, she would be frightened of Rodolphus. And for a good reason as well. She frowned a little and shook her head again. Lily was being ridiculous. The corners of her lips twitched downwards into a small frown at his words. “It sounds like you have something to hide then do you not?” Alarm bells rang inside her head at his actions. She gripped her wand so tightly she thought it might break underneath the pressure. It surprisingly did not and she considered that a good thing. A very good thing. Spells were already going through her mind. Spells that she would hopefully get the chance to use on him if he choose to attack her. “And why should you make me shut up? I can speak my mind whenever I feel like it.” Her voice was low and weary with a snappish tone to it. The tone would probably do more harm than good in this situation. “People who have something to hide wouldn’t nesscarly say what you just did.”
One of her main weaknesses was she can’t back down from a fight. All of her instincts were on high alert. There was something about him that she could not place her finger on it. Rumor had it he was dangerous. Deadly even so. She opened her mouth to retort but closed it after a few minutes. Chills were going up and down her body. This was not good. Really not good. “You wouldn’t get so far as to do that before I start running.” Her voice was soft. She quickly flinched at the word. “Will you stop calling me that!?” It was out of her mouth before she could stop it. “I know I don’t understand half of the things that purebloods like yourself believe in. Even more so with all this blood purity idea. We’re all human, no matter what we are.” Okay, so that little comment there might be the one to make Rodolphus snap. I should really learn how to keep my mouth shut, she thought ruefully. All it will ever do is to get me into even more trouble than I’m worth. She continued to frown at him. What was she suggesting exactly Lily did not know. Was he expecting her to answer that?
At his next words she let out a small gasp of fright. He WAS mental! There was no way she would cover for-She interrupted her own thoughts as she thought of the two boys. They would probably die for their friends or for one another. A true Gryffindor and wasn’t Lily loyal to her friends? She was quite for several minutes, knowing that, if she had said no, James would probably not speak to her again. Sirius she could care less about but they were still her housemates no matter what. She lowered her wand, her mouth had gone suddenly dry. “Yes. Yes I would. I’ll…..I’ll do anything for you not to harm them.” Her wand arm was lowered even more until it was even with the other one. She wouldn’t, couldn’t, let him hurt them. No matter how annoyed she was at them. She could not bear the thought of them in pain because of her. And it was for this reason, and others, that she would get attacked for. Tagged. Rodolphus! Words. 946! Notes. Oh good lord she's letting him blackmail her! Credits. the tables about to turn and your gonna get what you deserve`I GOT REAL BIG PLANS AND SUCH BAD THOUGHTS Oh yes, Rodolphus had heard all about the 'incident' and ever since then, Severus Snape had gone up in his estimations. Not enough to make him entirely trustable (hanging around with a mudblood for five years was going to take a lot to make up for) but Rod was relieved to see the boy had finally seen sense. "I think that it's best for the both of you." Rod answered, not shy in giving his opinion on the matter and although he still had a slight smirk on his face he was being entirely serious. "The two of you really weren't suited to each other; it was always destined for failure. Believe me, Snape is much more suited to our side." He almost hissed the last two words, caressing the 'our' over his tongue, making it clear just whose side he thought the right one, that Lily Evans was certainly not welcome on it and that he was glad they now had an extra supporter. "Oh trust me, it means something Evans." Rod said knowingly. "And you are very naive for thinking otherwise." The Slytherin knew exactly how much it mattered, knew just how much hatred surrounded people like her. Just what things people thought about doing to mudbloods in order to make them suffer and eventually die.
He stiffened, not liking the insinuation that his ancestors must have copulated with muggles. His smirk switched to a glare in less than a millisecond. The ancient house of Lestrange never strayed from marrying purebloods, even if that meant inbreeding. Rod wasn't bothered by that happening, if that was what it took for his family to stay pure then that was what had to be done. "You can trace my family back to the beginning of time and every last member would be of pure wizarding blood." He told her with a snarl. He continued to glare, not in the mood to answer her queries any longer. Yes, if given the opportunity he would torture someone he deemed less worthy. He supposed Lily knew that, she was just realising what sort of situation she may have walked in to and was stating it out loud.
"You're a prefect Evans not a detective." He replied, his tone switching back to lazy but his wand was rising ever higher, indicating just how much he was ready to curse her. ”I’ve told you already that it would be wise of you to shut up but you haven’t heeded my warning. You are a mudblood, and you need to learn your place.” If that didn’t show Rod’s intent then nothing would. He could not believe that Lily thought she could get away with speaking to him like that. The fact that someone like her dared to even look him in the eye made him feel sick to the stomach with disgust. ”If I have something to hide I’m hardly going to tell you, am I?” He snarled at her, the rage filling him up inside.
He really did despise this girl; she was too cocky for her own good. Such a typical, arrogant Gryffindor; strutting around as if they owned the place. Rod was going to enjoy teaching her a lesson; he was very glad he had an opportunity to. ”Run? Really?” He shook his head, waving his wand in a circle, trapping the two of them in the space. ”I don’t think that you’re going anywhere without my say so.” Rod sneered at her, lip curling, ready to mock her, hopefully humiliate her before he got on with causing her some pain. ”Awww, does hearing that word hurt? I’m sorry to tell you that actually, you’re wrong and the reason you don’t understand is because you are not a true witch. It’s not your place to understand, it is your place to suffer.” He spoke with conviction the thoughts that had been drilled into him from the day that he had been born.
Rod was not usually a talker; he was usually someone of little words who just got on with what he had to do. But there was something about talking about the Death Eaters’ cause that made him come to life. And he wasn’t going to pass up on an opportunity to blackmail and torture Lily Evans was he? He smirked, rubbing his chin with his free hand, watching her with slight curiosity. ”Interesting... how... noble of you Evans.” He knew exactly how people like her worked, he had a feeling that she would choose herself, but that didn’t mean he understood why. Rod would always put himself first, even if it was his brother’s life at stake. ”You may regret it.” He said, his eyes going blank and emotionless, the silence washing over him as he shifted to that strange other world inside of him, the one in which he became torturer. It was a much more peaceful place there, full of order because he was in control.
There was a moment of pure, beautiful silence inside of him, filled with anticipation which soon bubbled into rage and spilled out of his wand in the form of the cruciatus curse. And if Lily thought that was going to be the extent of it, then she was in for a big surprise.
