"Genis?" came a voice and the boy, only four foot ten looked up from where he was standing. "Yeah?" He asked, his hair, a bright silver today as per usual was all spiked up. His eyes he usually left unchanged, were blue-green and they matched the young woman's as she stared down at him. "Do you have time to help a student of mine out with something?" Raine Sage asked her younger brother. "......Hmmm." Genis hummed, taking a planner from his bag and checking it, "I've got tutoring to do for Lloyd as usual.....so ...tomorrow at five would be good." "Great!" Raine exclaimed, "I'll let Lily know." "Lily Evans?" Genis asked in surprise, "Gosh....I thought she was good at everything!" "Normally her grades are very high, but everyone has their classes they've got troubles with. Just like you do with Divination." She said, giving her little brother and affectionate smack to the back of his head. Laughing, he rubbed it lightly, "See you around sis." He said and went on his way. "Oh...and tell her not to eat any dinner!" he called out. The next evening, the little Third year Ravenclaw had borrowed his sister's classroom. He wasn't sure what exactly Lily was having trouble with, but he had a couple of ideas. Part of it was under a magical silver dome designed to keep it all perfectly hot and fresh. He loved tutoring and teaching almost as much as he loved baking and cooking. There was just something about seeing a person's face light up when they finally understood what he was trying to help them learn. He sat waiting on Lily, petting Raine's kitten Eliza as he waited. When the door opened, and Lily walked in, she looked quite surprised to see him there. "Hi Lily." He said, "And before you can ask, no I'm not in the wrong room." His feet were dangling off the end of his sister's desk and he hopped down, holding her kitten in his arms. "I'm your tutor." he smiled at her expression, "My sister didn't tell you because she figured you would refuse to be taught by a kid. But now that you're here, you might as well learn from me! Sit and make yourself comfortable."

--------------------------------I think I'm falling in love with you My heart is beating faster than I want it to--------------------------------- Well, this was embarrassing to Lily. She had decided to take Ancient Runes class this year and she was pretty much struggling in that class. People would be very surprised to hear that she was struggling with something. After class that day she had walked up to Professor Sage and stammered that she needed help translating a couple of runes. To be frank Lily should have asked her help a long time ago. She had recently came to terms that she was not good in everything. Everyone had something that they weren’t good at. The professor had told her that she knew someone who would be more than willing to help her out. The following day in class Raine had called for Lily to stay after class. Most of the students weren’t surprised to hear that. They figured that the red haired girl would have had a nice and intelligent conversation with her. This time however, it wasn’t the case. Professor Sage had told her that the person was willing to help her out that evening after dinner. Lily was thrilled and relieved once she heard that. Maybe it was one of the older students that was a wiz in Ancient Runes. She was anxious to get some help. That in itself was a feat for Lily. She was the type of person that had a hard time asking people to help her.
At this point in her year at Hogwarts she figured it would be for the better. “Lily, why are you practically bouncing up and down in your seat?” A blonde haired girl that was sitting next to her asked. She blushed and pushed a couple of mashed potatoes around on her plate. “Nothing,” She lied and ate a spoonful. “Eager enough to get to the library to get some homework done?” The sixteen year old girl grinned at the other girl and flapped her hand. It was common to see the red haired girl at the library by herself. Sitting in one of the back tables landed down with books. She had finished with her dinner and got up and left. Her Ancient Runes books were in her bag, which was slung over one shoulder. She pushed a couple of strands of her hair away from her eyes as she walked up the stairs. The sight of Hogwarts never failed to take her breath away. She remembered the total feeling of complete awe as she crossed the lake in her first year. She had been excited and nervous at the same time. The sorting hat had been torn between Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. She remembered asking it to put her in Slytherin but the hat had gently told her it wasn’t where she belonged.
Lost in her thoughts, Lily failed to realize that she was standing outside the Ancient Runes classroom. She blinked startled as she slowly opened the door. Maybe I should pay attention to my surroundings more often, she thought, amused. The amused look turned to that of a surprise as she saw a Ravenclaw she knew quite well. “Genis?” The next question was bubbling on her lips before he had answered that. She laughed. It was as if the thirteen year old was reading her mind. Lily sat down next to him and shrugged looking at him. “I would have refused at first Genis, truth be told. But it had taken me a while to come to terms that I had needed help. No matter how much I read and re-read the chapter something is not making the information stick.” She let out a sigh as she ran a hand through her hair. She smirked as she reached up in an attempt to ruffle his hair. “What are we learning today oh wonderful tutor of mine?” [/blockquote] Tagged!? Genis! Words!? 631 Notes!? I do apologize for the lateness. Let me know if anything needs to be changed! Credit!? The credit is to Lily at .live forever.

"It's the way you're studying." Genis announced, hopping down from the desk and heading over to her "No matter how many times you read the chapter, it's not going to make any sense because you don't understand it and since you don't understand, it's not sticking." he said, taking out from books from the shelf of them in Raine's office and returning to her with them.
"See, Runes is a very difficult subject and it's okay that you don't understand. But that's why Raine got me to teach you. As her brother, I'm naturally exposed to her teachings at home too. I can't escape it. Anyway it's all a matter of looking at it in a different way." He said, "You're in a more advanced class than I am since you're older, so I don't know how Raine is teaching you." he told her, "But, you see these runes right here?" And he started explaining things in detail, sometimes drawing them out with magic in the air.
"Now." Genis said, "You're starting to understand but you're still not quite getting it, so...." and he smiled and headed away to the silver dome. "he said and removed the cover, exposing a stuffed mushroom and beef ravioli dish with chives and a light garlic sauce. It was all separated into tiny little bowls with only enough for a few mouthfuls. There was enough there for one.
Smiling, he carried one of the bowls to Lily. "I did a little asking around and I found out you really like pasta dishes, so I made you my best one. However." He said, pulling it out of her reach. "I'm going to show you the runes I just taught you." He waved his wand, sending the books and any notes she made off to Raine's desk. "For every five answers you get right, you get a bowl of food. For every five you get wrong, I get a bowl. If you take too long to reply, I get a bowl anyway. If you score high enough...." he summoned another silver dome and removed the cover, exposing a big ice cream sundae with all the tasty fixings. "You get to eat that. And I made the ice cream myself."
He smiled at Lily, knowing that the lure of her favorite foods would enhance Lily's brain just a bit, like a potion, except without the side affects. He put the dome back over the ice cream to keep it from melting and went to the center of the room. He then stood there, asking Lily questions, sometimes very difficult ones, sometimes easy ones, sometimes trick questions and sometimes ones that were so easy, the answer wasn't obvious at first.
By the end of it, he rewarded Lily with the sundae and smiled as she ate it. "You did great Lily!" He said, "See, when I was tutoring Lloyd before I came to this school, he was having a lot of trouble and I discovered that his mind was more powerful when he had something to shoot for that wasn't just a good grade. Most of time it was food. I figured the same would work for you." He laughed and then picked up Raine's kitten, giving her a snuggle.
He paused as she told him his parents would probably love to hear about tutoring a student three years his senior. Suddenly, he lost control of his powers and his hair went limp and blue, his eyes changed to a pale shade of blue and he quickly looked away. How could he tell her the truth? That he'd never met his parents and his mother was insane and didn't even know who he was? If he said they were dead, then rumors would spread and people would talk. He didn't want their words to upset his sister, for he didn't ever want to see her in such a state again.
"Uh......y....yeah." He said, unaware his hair and eyes had changed ".......Real.....real proud."
Words: 667 Notes: If you didn't want Lily to say anything about his parents, I'll change it. Just figured it'd extend the thread.
