[/i] cold, ambitious, and determined are three words often used to describe mr. brant. behind his crystal blue eyes is the mind of a genius and intellect who has no desire to maintain nor create personal relationships. caleb strives to be the best he can be and will not give up on winning and achieving the highest rank in all aspects of his life. sometimes his opportunistic view on life frightens his colleagues, but caleb doesn't care a bit. the only opinion that matters to him is his own and that is that.

when he was a student at hogwarts he studied non-stop to be the top of his house and year, and he certainly achieved that along with many other accomplishments. caleb taught himself how to speak six different languages (spanish, chinese, french, german, italian, russian) and even taught himself the history and geography of those specific countries. ever since he was a young boy, his father (a world history professor) promoted learning of the diverse and different cultures of the world. caleb surrounded himself with history textbooks, documentaries, historical fiction, and primary sources and has grown to be a very worldly and cultured man.
despite the fact he is a socially vacant man, caleb is not ruthless nor evil. in fact, he believes that absolute power corrupts absolutely and is a strong crusader against totalitarian governments. he expresses the importance of individual importance and absolutely does not agree that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. darwinism is also a theory he does not take to which is why he disagrees with everything purebloods and death eaters believe.

dementor. on june twenty sixth 1970 caleb lost his fiance. she was murdered by a man who believed mudbloods deserved to die. when he got news that she had passed on, vengeance filled his soul, and he vowed to kill the man who did this to the love of his life.

history. on the tenth of april, charles and natalie brant brought their first child into the world. charlie was very pleased to have a son, and had his heart set on teaching him all he knew about baseball, history, and life. caleb's dad started working with his son the minute he arrived by reading his favorite books to him. some nights it would be a bit of hemingway, others shakespeare, and of course the coveted novel the lord of the rings. on the other hand, caleb's mother introduced her son to music and played classical pieces for her son to enjoy. when he was three years old, his sister was born. at first, he was a bit skeptical about being an older sibling, but soon he learned to enjoy having responsibility and watching little nat.
the brant child grew up, and when he was eleven years old he got his letter to attend hogwarts. charles and natalie weren't sure if he'd get the gift of magic, after all his blood was predominantly muggle. natalie sighed with relief the moment that owl arrived with his letter. caleb was sorted into the ravenclaw house and settled in quite nicely in the school environment. caleb devoted most of his time to studying and learning about the history of the world. he mastered six languages throughout his hogwarts years and became prefect and head boy. the young male was, frankly, a genius. his talent permitted him to learn things such as legilimens and wandless magic, but he refused to have such powers. caleb didn't believe in having an unfair advantage against normal wizards; he already had trouble accepting the unfair advantage he had against muggles.
while he was attending hogwarts he met and fell in love with emily ashdown. em was beautiful, kind, and humble; all these traits were rare in women (at least that's was caleb thought). the two started dating during their seventh year, and eventually moved in together a year after graduation. everything in caleb's world revolved around his girl which was why he started to look for a job. after hogwarts he had interned at the ministry for a while and applied for a position under the department of international magical cooperation. his knowledge of history and impressive language skills earned him a position on the confederation. the job was excellent pay and allowed him to do what he loved.
after being with emily for six years he proposed to her, and she said yes. his life was working out perfectly for him until his beloved bride was murdered by a pureblood extremist. emily was a muggleborn, and the man who killed her believed she was an abomination. caleb's heart was torn out and he shut himself away from the rest of the world. he swore vengeance on the man who did this, and has concentrated his time on tracking him down and advancing himself in work.[/size][/ul]
