His stomach was growling like a hungry animal! Sighing, Gilderoy Lockhart gazed into the mirror in the bathroom, fixing his hair so it was just right had taken so long, he'd missed lunch! The boy wasn't done yet though, he had to finish up. He kept on fluffing his hair, styling it so it was just right. Not a hair was out of place on his head and when he shifted it, it stayed in place, except for when he gave his head a flick, causing his hair to wave attractively. Smiling he leaned forward and kissed his reflection.
"Gilderoy my man!" he said to himself, "Your hair is a piece of art! And you can't rush art!" and he left the bathroom, smelling of lilac moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner. His hair care and skin care products were his life, without them he'd die. He'd just die! His stomach growled again and he gave a long suffering sigh.
"One suffers for one's art. I'm a starving artist." And he laughed at his own joke. As he walked out of his Common Room he headed for the kitchen, it was so easy to get there from the Hufflepuff Common Room that it was almost laughable. Tickling the pear, the young man was about to enter the kitchen when he heard someone on the other side. It was one of the Gryffindors! He quickly dived around the corner and hid.
If they saw him, they'd certainly give him a hard time. They were jealous of him. Like everyone else they longed to be him, but they hid that longing very very well. As he hid there, the boy passed and Gilderoy caught the scent of bacon.
Ohhhhh bacon! How Gilderoy loved bacon! He followed him, staying in the shadows and hiding whenever he had to, stopping when he needed to and just being a good spy. Finally, the boy stopped and set down his food.
Gilderoy swooped in. "I'll just take one." He said and swiped a piece, nibbling it. It was perfect! Not to crunchy and not too soggy. "Well....what's one more?" He asked himself, taking the entire plate and chowing down on the lot of it, leaving nothing but a grease stain on the plate. He sighed and shook his head "That wasn't enough. I'm still hungry!" he complained aloud and then, hid as he returned with more food.
Gilderoy wondered if he should take more of the food, it was all his favorites it really wasn't fair! Fate was teasing him. By putting all his favorite foods right in front of him, he was being tempted. Taking it all was a risk. The boy left again, obviously making some sort of picnic for his friends. All Gilderoy had to do was take a few things from the basket and he'd have his lunch. The missing bacon had gone unnoticed. Maybe he wouldn't miss a few more things.
He opened the basket quickly, loading his arms with a single serving mincemeat pie, a slice of cake, some cookies, a salad and for good measure, a bottle of butterbeer....better make that two. Off he went with the pilfered food in his arms. Heading for the Entrance Hall to make a swift retreat.
