Today had been a nice day, her students had all behaved well, except for James and Sirius, but she'd quickly made them stop when she whipped chalk at them, expertly striking right between the two of them. She meant business and she was going to teach them. Raine Sage had decided to finish up her day with a trip to the kitchens.
Oh how she loved the little house elves, they were all so cute! She enjoyed watching them and just loved to hear them speak with their funny mode of speech and their adorably high voices. Such cute little creatures! As she walked along, her hands clasped behind her back, she allowed her mind to turn to thoughts of potential snacks she could enjoy. Maybe some potato crisps and or little cakes, she was a sucker for sweets, cheesecake being her all time favorite.
Suddenly, the Professor was side tracked by something, it was her kitten Eliza, and she was chasing something! Raine gasped, blue-green eyes filling with surprise. "Eliza don't!" She called, "Oh leave the poor thing alone!" It was a mouse and as the kitten chased it, Raine ran after her. She loved animals and didn't want to see one get killed for fun. As she chased her little kitten, she bent to try and scoop her up and missed as Eliza darted away. "Eliza stop!" and she drew her wand, using a spell to shoot sparkles into the air. It stopped her kitten in her tracks and Eliza instantly began swatting and playing with the sparkly bits.
"There." Raine said with a smile, "You play with those." and then, she heard a rattling in the next classroom over and peeked inside. A large old cabinet, rattled and frowning, Raine went inside. "Hello?" she asked, thinking maybe it was a student trapped inside or something.
Oh how she wished she'd never come down here. As she opened the door, a boggart stepped out. It was in the form of her mother and Raine gasped, stepping back and falling over her own two feet. "....L....Leave me alone." she whispered, terrified.
The woman held a doll in her arms, it had glass eyes and a chipped, cracked face, the rest of it was cloth and threadbare. The woman's eyes matched the dolls, they were glassy and dead looking. Emotionless and empty. She smiled down at Raine who squeaked and tried to get up. "....Hello there." the woman said blandly. "Would you like to meet my daughter?" She smiled at Raine, "She's eleven. Her name is Raine."
Raine squeaked in terror and stood to run away, but collapsed in pain as he ankle protested against her weight. She'd twisted it when she fell. "Y-...you're not...you're not my mother!" She shouted, "Go away!" and she drew her wand, "R-...R-...Ridc-...Rid-" she couldn't even say it.
"Now look what you've done." The boggart woman snapped, "You've made my little girl cry! You're a monster!" And she held the doll close, rocking it back and forth. "Shhh....shhh...it's okay. It's alright...there there....it's okay my little Rainy Day. Don't you cry now."
The Professor then began to sob in terror, scrambling back, she crawled toward the door as the boggart followed her.
"Give my daughter's name back you wretch!" She hissed, "You stole it from her!"
