One by one grapes were poked into his mouth as an adoring girl stared at him, Gilderoy smiled and chewed, thanking the girl (for he'd forgotten her name already) and she giggled and blushed. He had the girls wrapped around his finger. One fed him grapes, the other refilled his goblet with tea. A third made sure to fill his plate with food. All three of them listened intently to his story.
"So there I was!" Gilderoy announced loudly, "Surrounded by fire without a wand! It was everywhere! The heat was incredible! But I told myself, 'Gilderoy, you've got to do this for the poor, helpless orphans!' and so, I led all them, carrying one on my back and two in my arms through the burning building!" the girls all sighed in adoration and awe and he smirked, eating another grape as it was fed to him.
"Once I got the little ones out, I didn't just stop there! Oh no sir! I went back in to get a litter of puppies and their mother! I removed my shirt and carried the puppies out in it!" He smiled at the look the girls all had when he mentioned himself being shirtless. "And took the mother in my arms between them! And that's how I single handedly saved eighteen children, seven puppies and a mother dog." the girls burst into applause, cheering and some very cried at his bravery. Smirking, he stood up.
"Alas ladies, I must leave you." And he stood, heading off. At that moment, he crashed into someone and as a result, food went everywhere, all over himself mostly.
"CLUMSY LITTLE FOOL!" He bellowed, instantly shoving the person back from him. He looked in horror at his clothes and then, glared at the person he'd run into. "Fix it!" He demanded, "NOW!"

Alexandria was just making her way towards the Great Hall. She actually finished her work beforehand, and so didn’t have to skip lunch again. Usually, she would be on her way to the library or already in the library. There were times when she didn’t feel it was absolutely necessary to finish her work, but most the time she did it. Usually during lunch. Either way, as long as she passed the class, she was fine. Just because she was in Ravenclaw did not mean she spent most of her time studying. In fact, she spent more time hanging out with others, namely her siblings, than doing homework. One could call her a procrastinator, but it wasn’t as if she was putting it off for last minute. Most the time homework was never really a giant priority with her. Namely because she could get a good grade rather easily unlike some others.
She hadn’t been in the Great Hall in, what, two maybe three days. Her siblings were already warning her about skipping her meals again. She didn’t want them to bother about it again, so it was hitting two birds with one stone. She was getting rather hungry anyways, and didn’t feel like going down to the kitchens later. She figured she’d spend at least one night just relaxing just because she could. Alex figured this would be considered her ‘break’ off of school work and being the typical studious Ravenclaw. Though, making her way to the Great Hall, she almost wanted to change her mind.
It was so crowded, she’d almost forgotten that almost everyone was in the great hall to eat. She thought dinner was the time where it was most crowded, but she’d forgotten just how crowded the Great Hall could be at lunch. Not the best time ever. She preferred breakfast over all the others, simply because no one wanted to get up early in the morning. It was the perfect time to eat for her. Once she entered, her gaze zeroed in on the Ravenclaw table. At least, it was not as bad as the Gryffindor table, which seemed to be alive with chatter. The Slytherin table was a rather nice table to sit at as well, but Alex made her way to the Ravenclaw table. The Hufflepuff table, well, all she could hear was the idiot Lockheart She couldn’t help but roll her eyes at his stories. Anyone who believed them were even more idiotic than Lockheart himself.
So, deciding to ignore Lockheart and his obnoxious stories, Alex just continued on, between the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff table. She had gotten a plate of food when she decided that she really couldn’t stand being that close to Lockheart and his annoying, giggling little fangirls. So, picking up her plate, Alex went to move farther down the table where she could ignore Lockheart in peace. Ignoring him, however, turned out to be much more difficult than she originally thought. Not because of his stories - thank Merlin it was over - but because he decided to get the up same time she passed. Needless to say, her lunch ended up all over the place, but to her amusement, mainly on Lockheart. At least, until he pushed her back and demand she clean it up. Who did he think he was?
"Excuse me? You walked into me." she glared, her tone cold. "Besides, I think you look much better this way…if only we could cover your face now…" she smirked in such a Slytherin way. Spending time with her Slytherin siblings did that. Looking down at herself, she was a bit messy, but not as much as Lockheart was. Served the idiot right. Waving her wand at herself she muttered a "Scourigfy" to clean herself up. Looking at Lockheart Alex merely raised an eyebrow before turning away. "You’re a wizard. You can clean yourself up, can’t you? Though I really shouldn’t be surprised if you couldn’t…"

"Yes well if you had watched where I was going this wouldn't have happened!" Gilderoy shot back, this girl obviously didn't have a clue how to treat him! His jaw fell open at her next comment, cover his face? his face? Was she kidding? Did she not know that his face was a work of art? Just like his hair and every other inch of his body?
"Yes. I'm a wizard and yes I can do cleaning charms but that's not the point you clumsy little oaf!" He snapped, "I can also duel rings around you!" she was walking away from him! This girl was blind! And stupid! How dare she treat him like this! He was going to show her exactly what happened when you messed with Gilderoy Lockhart and insulted him! Not to mention ruin his clothes. With a couple cleaning spells, his uniform was perfectly fine and he followed her out. Too many witnesses, including Professors. He wasn't going to be caught and given detention! No way.
"Hey! Wait!" He called, "Stop! I'm sorry. Okay?" Gilderoy said, a small embarrassed frown on his face. "I really shouldn't have reacted like that." he was of course acting, but he was such a skilled actor, that it was impossible to tell that he wasn't truly sorry at all.
"It's....Alexandria right?" He asked, "Alex for short?" He rubbed the back of his neck and glanced away, giving a small embarrassed sort of laugh "I feel .....stupid now. I mean...I did run into you and I didn't mean to push you so hard. I thought you were just trying to give me trouble." and he smiled at her, "No hard feelings I hope!"
Oh he was going to make her pay! He had the perfect spell and the expression on his face was nothing but hopeful, as if he was silently pleading for her to forgive him. He wasn't though, she'd embarrassed him and he was going to get her back for that! And he knew exactly how to do such a thing.
"I really didn't mean anything. I've just been having a bad week, which is no excuse." and when she let her guard down, he quickly aimed his wand at her when she wasn't looking and whispered "Anteoculatia." and her hair turned into a pair of large antlers, just a group of Slytherin boys passed by, playfully firing spells of their own at each other.
"You fiends!" Gilderoy shouted, sliding his wand into his pocket, "Cads! Scoundrels! Look! Just look at what you've done!" He pointed to his victim, as if they were the ones who'd hit poor Alex. Drawing his wand again, he quickly perform pus squirting hexes and then while the three boys were distracted, he offered Alex his hand, "Come on! Let's get out of here!" He gasped, planning on performing even more humiliating hexes on the poor girl the moment he got the chance.
He knew several spells that would be just perfect for embarrassing the girl with. She deserved it! Right? But....suddenly as he watched her, he actually......started to feel....bad for what he'd done. Maybe it was the look on ....misery on her face. Or maybe it was the fact that she really.....hadn't done anything at all.
"Let me see what I can do about that. Hold.....still." And he smiled, "Finte Incantatem!" he said boldly, and her hair returned to normal. There! The damage was repaired, it was time for him to return to his seat. Except.......he glanced at her one more time. "......Do you want to eat lunch together?" He asked, "My girls won't....bother us if I tell them to go away." why did he want to eat lunch alone with this annoying obnoxious bratty girl? Maybe he was crazy.
Words: 627 Thoughts: Well that was unexpected.

Alex’s usually passive, pretty face turned cold as she glared at the pompous boy before her. And she only thought it was girls that worried about their looks so much. "Why would I be watching someone like you? It’d just be a waste of my time." she responded back coolly, crossing her arms over her chest. Her green eyes darkened a bit, before she just tuned him out. His voice was getting on her nerves the pompous ass. It was laughable that he thought he could “duel rings around her”. As if. Alex was quick with a wand and knew more spells than he probably did. After all, she was in Ravenclaw for a reason. Had he been anyone else that was actually worth her time and energy in arguing or dueling with, Alex wouldn’t have turned away and ignored them. However, seeing as Lockheart was all lies and no bite, she didn’t have any qualms with walking away from him.
In all honesty, she had hoped to have gotten rid of him in the Great Hall. It didn’t turn out as great as she planned though, seeing as the idiot couldn’t get a hint and followed her out. She stopped, but didn’t turn around. At his apology, Alex rolled her eyes. She didn’t buy into his act at all. After all, what did he call her? Oh, that was right, a “clumsy little oaf”. His entire apology sounded sincere, but Alex really didn’t like him. No use, just accept it and move on. "Whatever Lockheart." she waved her hand in the air as if dismissing his presence. With that said and done, Alex continued on her way to the kitchens, after all, thanks to the idiot behind her, her lunch was now nothing. She only paused for a second and partially turned her head back. All she did in acknowledgement to his apology was nod her head before turning away once more.
Lockheart proved more cowardly than she originally thought, as she felt a pair of antlers grow on her head. At that moment, a group of Slytherins passed by; she saw them a few times in the Slytherin common room when she was with her siblings, but they didn’t talk. When Lockheart blamed them for it, she turned her eyes towards them. They were obviously sending hexes at each other, perhaps one went stray and hit her instead. She knew it was probably Lockheart - the prat - but the sensitive side of her was hurt. Of course, she was always worried the other Slytherins wouldn’t like her, and she wanted them to. So, she let Lockheart lead her away with no resistance and kept her gaze on the ground. She didn’t like showing her sensitive side, but she couldn’t help it. What if they did throw the hex? Did they not really like her? She just wanted to be able to hang out with her siblings and their friends. Was that wrong?
Shaking her head, Alex worked on trying to control her feelings once more. She wasn’t exactly great once she let her mask slip, but after a few moments, she got it. Times like this where she knew she really wouldn’t have done well in Slytherin; she was much too open once she let her guard down. "Oh…thanks…" she mumbled, a little shocked at the sudden kindness Lockheart was showing her. Wasn’t he the one who hexed her anyways? Alex inwardly shook her head. She didn’t want to try and figure him out. Nice or not, Lockheart was a liar and that was that. She prided herself on being able to keep her cool in most situations, however Lockheart continued to surprise her when he invited her to eat lunch with him. Did she hear him right, the pathological liar Lockheart, inviting her, the cold Ravenclaw, to lunch? What had the world come to?' However, she supposed she owed him for getting rid of the antlers…though he probably was the one that hexed her and she could have gotten rid of it on her own…but still, may as well give him more reason to feel guilty.
"Umm…ok?" it was more of a question than an answer, but she really couldn’t care less. She was hungry and she wanted to eat. "Thank you…for the invitation…" she thanked cautiously. She may have accepted his offer, but that didn’t mean she liked him. Alex still disliked Lockheart. A lot.

He nodded and headed off for the kitchen, not really wanting to bother with the Great Hall anymore, it was too crowed and to hard to carry on a conversation with anyone unless you shouted. Plus, he didn't want to be seen sharing lunch with anyone he'd just shouted at and threatened. At least, that was what he told himself. As he walked, he started to think about what could be wrong with him. This girl had on only thrown food all over him, but she'd insulted him several times! So why? Why was he going to eat lunch with her? He had no idea.
"......I know of a good place." He said and went into the kitchen, he looked down at the little house elves and gave a small smile, he couldn't help it. They were kind of....sweet. With their huge bat-like ears, their tiny little bodies and giant eyes all thrown together with those squeaky little voices, well....they were just too cute!
"I want a ham sandwich, crisps, a soda and....." he smiled "Some cheesecake. Please." he added and once he had it he nodded at them "Thanks!" and waited for Alex and then headed for the exit, dodging the little elves as he went. He ended up leaving the kitchen and leading Alex away to a window seat on the second floor over looking the lake.
..........."I like the elves." He said after a while, "Some people don't, but I think they're pretty cute. I wish I had one....but unfortunately, we can't get one." he gave a small sigh and then pointed out at the lake, "If you're wondering why I sit here sometimes .... just watch." He told her and after a while, off in the distance, a unicorn was spotted on the far side of the lake. "Sometimes it brings the foal out." He said, "But usually only at night." He added, and he smiled "If you watch close enough, its mate will come out. I think that it's the female, but from this far away it's pretty hard to tell."
he knew it was an impressive sight and he smiled, then ate some more of his food. This was good. He was starting to make Alex loosen up just a bit. "............Nice day." He commented, and winced inwardly. Smooth. Real smooth. He glanced to Alex and then gestured to his slice of cake "If you want any...you're welcome to it."
Then, he dropped his bombshell ".....There's a hogsmeade visit next weekend." He pointed out, as if everyone didn't already know. "I don't have anyone to go with....and if you don't....then I suppose we could ....meet each other there. That way we'd at least have someone to talk to other than ourselves." he said as he ate, "I could show you another nice spot that I don't think too many people know about." was he asking her out on a date?
No. He was just ......going to happen to meet her at the same place and ....go....to ....the same....places with....okay. So it was a date. Maybe she wouldn't figure it out though!

Alex followed Lockheart away from the Great Hall and towards the kitchens. She rather preferred it that way, especially since there wouldn’t be so many people down there. Probably just the usual few people that didn’t have time for an actual lunch. It never crossed her mind how it may look if someone walked in on the two of them having lunch together when they’ve never really interacted. So, making her way behind Lockheart, Alexandria just looked from painting to painting, losing herself in thought.
She didn’t exactly understand why she even accepted the invitation anyways, if she could have just gone to the kitchens anyways. However, he would probably tag along anyways, seeing as he had the same idea she did. Or maybe he just was trying to avoid his fan girls that fell for his silly little lies. Really, they were as daft as a troll. To Alex anyways. Pausing by the painting of the pear, Alex waited until Lockheart opened the door, and entered behind him. She almost smiled at the house elves. It was cute how they were always ready to please. She rather liked her house elf back home, Thistle. She raised an eyebrow at Lockheart’s order. For some odd reason she expected him to order something more…extravagant. "I’ll have a glass of pumpkin juice, a chicken salad, and some treacle tarts, please." she smiled at the little house elf that turned to her, as another served Lockheart. "Thank you." she smiled slightly at the house elf. That one reminded her a lot of Thistle, but she wiped the smile off her face as she left. No use letting Lockheart think she was a softie.
In all honesty, the view from the window Lockheart led her to was amazing. She liked the height and angle they got from it. "Hmmm." she nodded, taking a bite of her salad. After a slight pause she decided to continue on the conversation. After all, she did spill her lunch all over him, even if it was an accident. Sure, he was a jerk when she did it, but she couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty about it. Accident or not, she basically just dumped her lunch on him and walked away. Though if he hadn’t been such a jerk about it…shaking her head, Alex continued to stare out the window. "The ones in the kitchens remind me of my house elf." she murmured in the soft voice of hers. Thistle was always her house elf, and she absolutely adored him. Really, Thistle was the cutest thing to Alex; given how he was. Always bowing down and eager to do something for her. Cute.
Her gaze never strayed from the window, but as Gilderoy spoke about being there, she couldn’t help but wonder why he came there. Sure the view was nice, but it was like that in other places too. With different angles and scenery. "Oh wow…it’s so beautiful…" she murmured, gazing at the unicorn with an unexpected softness. However after a little few moments, Alex went back to her cold shell. "Well, I would suspect she or he’d want to keep it away from people as much as possible." her tone changed from awed and soft to cold. Turning her attention away and towards the floor of the castle, Alex kept glancing at the Unicorn from the corner of her eye, every once in a while.
After the moment of silence they seemed to have Lockheart broke it with a simple observation. Raising an eyebrow at him as if to say ‘oh, really now?’ Alex held her tongue. She wouldn’t snap at him, after all, he did invite her to lunch. Perhaps it was compensation for being a jerk earlier, but still. She wouldn’t be rude to him unless he started it first. And he really gave no reason for her to be…yet. "Yes. I suppose it is." However, his next question caught her off guard. Hogsmeade? With Lockheart? Well, she really would rather just spend it with her brother, or sister, but she didn’t want to shut him down. After all, she’d already bruised his pride in front of most the school. "Hogsmeade? Well, I guess…" she began, turning her attention to the ceiling as she thought. "I may have plans with my brother and sister later on though, so I wouldn’t be alone." Then she realized how rude she sounded. "But I’m sure your fan girls would love to go with you. You wouldn’t be alone." she attempted to make it better. She really was never the best at those types of things.
"But if you really want to…then maybe in the morning?" it was more of a question, because really. What was she to say? She still didn’t like him, but she didn’t want to bruise his pride even more. Hm, maybe she’d ask her siblings if it would be ok. Yeah. That’s what she’d do. With that resolve, Alex took another bite of her salad, her cold mask in place once more.

"We don't have a house elf, I wish we did but mom's got muggle friends and they would notice the elf so....yeah. No house elf for us. Plus, mom likes doing the house work herself. Relaxes her, for.... whatever reason." Gilderoy said with a smile, "Mom's great....so's dad." He then laughed, "'Course they spoil me rotten, but even if they didn't I'd still think they were great."
At Alex's rather unexpected gentleness, Gilderoy smiled. She really was full of surprises, "It is isn't it?" He remarked, "I think it's the mother." He said softly "If you watch long enough, the baby will come out." he wasn't sure why he was telling Alex all of this, maybe he just wanted to see her let her guard down again and become a soft, gentle happy girl again, even for an instant because that smile really was very very .......dare he think it? Cute.
He sighed a bit, "Oh the girls. Yeah....they can get a little....I don't know .....annoying." He admitted, "I mean I love them. And I love the attention, don't get me wrong but I can't really have a moment's peace without one of them finding me and once one finds me, they all will eventually."
"Yes. Morning it is then! Then we'll have the afternoon to do whatever we please." He said with a smile and then finished off his food, pointing "Look." He said softly and sure enough, a golden unicorn foal ventured out to join its mother and suckled as the mother drank the water from the lake. Gilderoy smiled sightly, "Wish I had a camera, that's a once in a lifetime......" and he drew his wand "Accio camera!" And a few moments later, it flew into his hands and he looked through it, slowly zooming in on the scene. With a few clicks, he'd taken several pictures and then, the mother and foal were gone, heading back into the forest.
Smiling Gilderoy waved the camera "I got it!" he said with a laugh, "I'll make you a copy or two. I'll have someone develop them for me so they move. I'll send one to my folks since mom would love to have a moving picture." he glanced over at Alex and blinked "What?" He asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?" he inquired.

At his mention of muggles, Alex almost wrinkled her nose. Almost being the key word. She didn’t have anything against them, really, but she didn’t understand what was so great about them. One could say she was a bit biased, but really, muggles couldn’t do magic. And even if Alex grew up with it, magic was the most magnificent thing to her still. So why would someone want to be friends with muggles, unless his mother was a muggle herself. She just didn’t understand it. However, she didn’t say anything. Of course she suspected Lockheart was spoiled rotten. He probably wouldn’t be so annoying if he wasn’t. Though, she wouldn’t admit it, but he was rather…tolerable at the moment. She didn’t like it. It was strange and different than normal. Usually, she would just ignore him and he’d get angry. But they’d leave each other alone. At least, until he decided to follow her out of the Great Hall.
"Yeah. You can usually tell when it’s a mother. She just has a…peaceful air about her." she muttered softly, placing a hand on the window, gazing at the unicorn. The majestic animal just seemed to take her breath away. She’d seen unicorns before, but it seemed like every time she saw one, her breath was stolen away from her. However, she was able to turn her attention away as Lockheart seemed to break her trance. She really didn’t like being vulnerable in front of others. It wasn’t a feeling she was used to, and she could only imagine her siblings’ reactions. She focused on her salad once more, poking around the lettuce with her fork, but not making any moves to eat it. Sometimes she just wished she could be more like her sister and brother, both of which would probably not even be in this situation. It wasn’t bad or anything, but she’d just rather have avoided showing Lockheart, of all people, her rather soft side. Now he’d think she was a softie or something. Alexandria really didn’t need that.
She snorted, but quickly covered it up by turning her face away from Lockheart and smiling. Of course, she wouldn’t expect someone who loved attention as much as Lockheart would dislike his fan girls at all. Though that was saying something if Lockheart was even annoyed with them. The giggling cows. Seriously, that was all they did. Giggle over Lockheart and follow him around. It was as if they had no brains. And being in Ravenclaw, Alex really did prefer people with brains and intellect. Fan girls were just the people she despised. "Agreed. Morning it is then." Though she’d rather not have people see around. She didn’t want rumors or anything to spread around…and she didn’t particularly feel like dealing with Lockheart’s jealous giggling fan girls. But really, she already agreed, so she couldn’t do anything. Hopefully they wouldn’t notice…or at least notice after she’d left.
When the golden foal came out, however, she sighed a bit, pressing her hand against the glass, as if to take a closer look. "Amazing…" she breathed out, smiling softly at the sight of the foal. Really, it was one of the most amazing, breathtaking, magnificent things she had ever seen. Perhaps it was because of the purity that the unicorns represented, or perhaps she just really liked seeing the bond between mother and foal. Either way, she absolutely loved watching the two unicorns interact. Lockheart’s voice, once again, brought her out of her thoughts. She noticed him reach out for the camera that flew towards him due to the accio spell he had just used. Her attention seemed to switch from the unicorns to Lockheart as he snapped pictures. However, it wasn’t like a camera she’d seen before. 'Probably a muggle contraption…' she thought, looking at the strange camera before turning her gaze away.
Once he finished speaking about the pictures and developing them - something she really didn’t understand…though she briefly remembered something in muggle studies about nonmoving pictures - and then having someone charm them to move. Why not just use a wizarding camera then? She didn’t know. When he turned to face her, she must’ve had a look of incredulity on her face. Turning away she sniffed slightly, going back to her rather introverted state. "I just don’t understand why you would use that…muggle camera. A wizarding one surely is better, no?" she didn’t mean to sound bigoted or anything like that, but really, she didn’t understand muggle cameras. She’d never had handled one, even in muggle studies, and it was just…she didn’t like it. "Ahem," she coughed, turning away, watching as the foal and unicorn disappeared back into the forest. "Besides…why would you need to…develop a camera?" Muggles. She didn’t understand them or anything they did. Really, she just didn’t.
