Kendra was excited- she didn’t know why she was excited, but she was. It was a glorious day and there were no classes to have to worry about, making it an excellent moment for something fun. She had an interest in finding exciting things, and she knew a few people she could drag along with her, for the company and the eye witness account. This time, her thoughts were on Daisy. The girl was a good friend, and someone she knew she could trust. Who better to take with her on a half-baked hunt for something that probably wasn’t even there?
She’d heard rumors recently, and she was eager to try and find out if they were true or not. Normally, she wasn’t big on them, but the story was too interesting not to take as a serious lead. It didn’t have anything to do with who was snogging whom, or who had committed the latest fashion disaster. Meaningless junk like that she liked to leave to Rita- that girl loved all the gossip, didn’t she? Along with all the stuff that simply wasn’t true. If ever there was a reported Kendra hated, it was that girl. How annoying they were in school together! Competition was well and good, but she couldn’t help feeling Rita was well on her way to ruining the paper field of media. One day, she would be the biggest liar in all Europe.
The most painful part? She would probably be very famous for it.
There was no time to worry about Rita, or let those displeasing thoughts stab into her heart. She had business to attend to! Sitting in the common room, Kendra reclined against one of the chairs, smiling merrily to herself as she waited to catch sight of her friend. She had to either come into the common room from the outside, or from the dorms, so she was confident she would EVENTUALLY stumble across her. The common room was the best place to be if you wanted to pounce on someone without any kind of warning. Hopefully Daisy didn’t’ have anything planned for the day- that was the only potential problem she saw.
Otherwise, it was looking to be a fabulous day. Something she was always happy to have. So many students seemed gloomy all the time- it had to be exhausting. Wasn’t it just a more natural state to be content?
She had always thought so.
Sighing softly, getting a little bored, Kendra looked up at the common room ceiling. She frowned thoughtfully, musing over how she might repay her friend if she did agree to go investigating with her. Normally, she ended up in trouble with some professor, and any friend who came along with her suffered a similar fate. It made getting people to join in her games… difficult. But not impossible! It was all in the charm, and the plucky reported had plenty of that going for her. Or so she liked to believe, anyway.
