An old, battered book was clutched in a woman's hand, it had no title or anything. It was red and faded, obviously it had seen better days. The woman mousy brown hair was cut short in a cute style. Her blue-green eyes focused on the pages of the book. She was perched on the Astronomy Tower, it wasn't time for curfew yet, but even if it was, she was a Professor, she had no curfew.
She flipped through the book slowly, but she didn't seem to be enjoying it much. In fact, she was frowning as she read it. She'd smile every now and again, but the smiles wouldn't last very long before it'd fade again. Sighing, Raine looked up at the sky, letting the book plop into her lap. It was lying open, a diary of some sort, written in purple ink.
Raine ran a hand through her hair, then rubbed her arms. It was a little bit chilly up there, but she could deal with it. She'd come up here to be alone, and it worked. Watching the stars seemed to help, it cleared her mind as she just stared at the endless expanse of stars above. Still was obviously troubled, but she didn't feel like telling anyone, there was no need. Or at least, that's what she told herself.
She didn't know how long she sat there, but someone else joined her and she glanced over her shoulder, a student. She smiled slightly, "Hi." she said, "You know it's probably almost time for curfew." her book still lay open on her lap, she'd kind of forgotten about it.
